they really don't know what they are talking about. fred katz just tweeted something about whether or not the thunder could 'convince' rudy gay to take the mle or less. this is hours after woj expressed the difficulty the thunder had arranging a sign and trade with the kings. so which one is it?
i put zero stock into katz or royce or any of them reporting on meetings or who or what the thunder are interested in / their motivations.
They don't have anyone inside the org. The Thunder are tight lipped. I doubt they s&t because of the hard cap in this crucial year. Gay is either at the MLE or bust. It's impressive he took the meeting. We shall see what the market does for him. But, I would think this is his most ideal basketball situation.
He has made $115 million over his career and he is 30 so this is probably his last contract unless he signs a one year deal to stay on the same timeline as Westbrook and George.
