He's a great shooter and penetrator.
I don't want him as our point guard and perhaps not as a starter but I sure want him in the crew
GONYK wrote:Falstaffxx wrote:We're not making a decision between Douglas playing point guard or acquiring Crawford.
That is essentially the decision if Douglas is getting traded for Crawford though, isn't it?
Both players would basically be playing the same role. It's just a matter of which one do you think would fill it better.

You yourself said that if we made that trade there must be something in the works for Barea/Baron. Regarding Crawford, I'm simply stating that I'd prefer to have Douglas in the 6th man role over Crawford. And I'm also optimistic about Shumpert.

Crawford won 6th man of the year in 2009-2010. Last season he declined.
Toney Douglas decline too, even though he took more shots.
Exactly how did Crawford decline?
Shooting percentage went from 44.9% to 42.1%
3-point % went from 38.2% to 34.1%
PPG went from 18 to 14.2
Rebounds went from 2.5 per game to 1.7 per game

shumperts. Weaknesses: Lacks stability/discipline on the court ... Inconsistent … Not efficient at all ... Horrid shot-selection ... Liable to shoot at any time, even when being closely guarded ... Likes to shoot off the dribble on a good deal of his isolation possessions, despite only connecting on 20% of these attempts ... Shoots nearly 5 three pointers per game, despite only shooting 27.8% from behind the arc ... Will often go for the flashy play instead of the easy play, which can lead to unforced turnovers ... Very poor jump shooter, and hasn't shown any improvement in this area during his three-year career with Georgia Tech ... Needs the ball in his hands a lot to be effective on offense and he certainly won't have as many isolation opportunities at the next level ... Should look to take advantage of his size and strength more in the post, but has yet to add this dimension to his game ... Attitude has been questioned in the past, but to his credit he appears to have matured over the past year ...
Cutting and pasting a pre-draft report makes for a substantive post.
its better than just pretending the guy is an nba starter and superstar when hes played no minute in the nba. which alot on here do. craw is good. we got a team that got 4 years maybe to get a ring. u take craw over shumperts yesterday. we are tryin to win a ring. got no time to wait for three years to find out shumperts isnt all that good and isnt saving the team lol. if u throw in shumperts to the deal we can get craw 8 mils or something and he might take it. u do this if u can.

You can say the same for Toney Douglas too.
But here is the difference......
Toney declined with more minutes and more shot attempts...every shooting category took a dump.
Crawford had less minutes, shot attempts, games and zero starts.
Toney was a reason why we got swept. 36% shooting in the playoffs allowing his defense to be laughed at by having Rondo blow by him on every drive.
I would like to believe Crawford was a reason why ATL advanced.

I mean seriously, complaining about getting a Sixth Man? If he goes to Chicago and kills us. I'm flaming all of you complaining about it. He makes us insanely deeper and tougher to guard. He would scare defenses.
