KP has to be a top trade target this offseason. Everyone except for Bridges should be on the table

Man he’s super interesting at the right price.
He NEVER plays a full season though, but that’s the only reason he’s even remotely available again.
Wonder what him and Clax would look like next to each other on defense?

Great, now he telling us to go after soft, low energy and injury prone failure. Pull out a tweet where he ranked as one the worst bigs on switches. Dude allows highest rate on jumpers amongst the bigs.

Van Vleet should be considered if he opts out. I think a steady ball handler like that, who can also create his own shots, should be heavily considered. Would be a definite improvement over Dinwiddie.

I like FVV but how much do you want to may him? Seems like he wants >$25M per.
Not sure I want to pay him that much into his early 30s. (He will be 30 next season)

One thing to consider is that he'll (likely) be a FA this year, so we don't have to trade any picks/assets to get him. We save that for another trade.
He fills a position we desperately need. Dinwiddie is ok, but he's not going to be the answer for us during this next era. He can still start off ball, or even come off the bench though.
He's a littler older, but he's not as old as other guys we've discussed like Dame or Butler. But maybe that's a thing to note.
I think he's the type of veteran that would command a lot of respect from the younger guys, has championship pedigree, and can genuinely create buckets and get others involved. His fit would be ideal.
Giving him the deal while still have Simmons on the book would become tricky though... got to figure out that headache.
And then after signing him (or before), we make a move to trade Harris/CT/DFS/picks etc for another star player.
I really like the idea of a starting group of FVV / Bridges / star player / CJ / Claxton

I looked at sports trac and i dunno why we're even discussing free agents. Our cap is totally f*cked until 2025.

Yea unless a player puts us as an option they want to be traded to, cant see us making any major trades this offseason. Only major move is maybe moving into the lottery but most likely seeing if we resign cam J and mid to minor free agent signings. 2025 looks like Marks is aiming to go hunting again for some stars. Plus it looks like Marks and the organization still want to see what a healthy Ben looks like on this team, his still on the posters/ads and around the team.

FVV is not a steady ball handler. He is just like Dinwiddle; a score first, no defense combo guard that freezes out his teammates. I would much rather stay with Dinwiddle as he won't ask for 25M a year.

As much as I would like Dame, I don't want to make this team top heavy again. That is what burned us during the KD era. If we get Dame we need to make sure that there are still enough assets left over to find a Forward/Guard.

Nick Nurse out in Toronto. Thankfully, we have Vaughn signed through next season.

Dont know if team has ever extended then fired a coach but it looking we gotta be the first. Nurse is a top coach in the league. Vaughn looking like he doesn't know what he is doing

Nick Nurse would be better than any potential trade or free agent. Just watch what he would do with this team of 3 and D hustle guys and a defensive beast in Claxton. We’d win 50 games, book it.

Re: Early discussion on the 2023 offseason
I'm open to the idea of getting Dame if the compensation is mostly draft picks and expiring contracts (Spencer, Joe, Royce). Not sure how feasible that is though.
A core of Dame, Mikal, Clax, and Cam J is probably a top 3 team in the East. Probably not a true contender but maybe we get lucky and Ben returns to form too (lol). At the very least we have a true first option which has been a glaring flaw since the trade deadline. Mikal is very good but not a true "bucket getter." Dame would probably help elevate his game even further.
Downside is Dame is approaching his mid 30s and has a massive contract. I also don't trust Marks to build a cohesive roster.

He had more or less a team of "3 and D" guys and proceeded to make the playoffs only once in the past 3 seasons where he coincidentally lost to PHI
