Smart-Ja backcourt isn't bad, so they'll play them together especially in the Playoffs. Memphis lost none in this deal and in anticipation of losing Brooks, who's not as half as smart.
Also think you have Smart and Jaren Jackson now.
That's two bonafide defensive player year candidates. This is a huge upgrade to their defense. And Smart is good enough shooter to play the 2 and stretch the court.
Huge Win for Memphis who would have severely struggled with the absence of Ja Morant.
