With that being said, tickets are way overpriced. More than $50 to sit down low is pricing the middle income families out of attending most games. Most business suits own the lower level and generally go to talk business-- doubtful they have much of a dog in the fight.
I don't get why they don't give more tickets away or do better promos. We haven't been to the playoffs in 5 years, we just traded the most popular player on the team all the while being in the middle of huge bandwagon /transplant city.
Then why do the Lakers have such a good home crowd, their ticket prices are insane. I paid over $300 for middle level seats at a Laker game in 2006. I paid about the same to sit in the third row behind the Suns bench last year. Even then, in the video, I'm the only one standing and cheering Plumlee's block, followed by a Frye save, and a Bledsoe finish. I was loud the whole game, and everyone around me was barely making any noise. At halftime, everyone that has those lower seats have get free food at the Blue Moon lounge (I think, we did) and no one rushed back to their seats to cheer the team on. Instead everyone was trying to get as many hotdogs they could.
At Minny games, I pay $35 for ok seats, but they are still pretty far up. I spent $22 for seats five from the top the other night, and I only got that price because we bought them before they traded for Granett. After the trade, ticket sales went nuts. And we usually get decent ticket prices because my wife works for Target.
There are tons of rich people in PHX, they just aren't Suns fans. They seem to go to games just to be seen.
