HEAT's talent evaluation brain trust has been pretty damn spot on recently in terms of uncovering gems...

• Hassan
• Dion
• JJ
• Tyler
• Rich
• McGruder
• Ellington
• Reed
• Okaro

He's a backup 5, high energy big who has good physical tools to finish above the rim, jump out on pick and rolls and defend. It looks like he has a decent stroke, just hasn't shown it much yet.

Seeing our pick really killed my vibes at first, but im starting to hold on to the hope his 3 point shooting is for real.

Seeing the workout videos, his release looks pretty good.

I'm nervous because he never shot 3's in real games before, but if by some miracle he becomes a decent catch and shoot shooter - he's suddenly becomes a much much more useful player as an alethic stretch PF.

Can't wait to see more of him shooting in summer league. Not too optimistic but can't rule him out yet, seems like an hard worker.

July 1 — Official start of 2017/18 league year; July moratorium begins. Free agents can begin reaching verbal agreements with teams.

July 6 — July moratorium ends (11:00am CT); teams can begin officially signing players and making trades.

As of right now till we see what happens in FA. Bam is the starting power forward.

Really hoping you're right.

If he can't develop a reliable outside shot he's a bad pick and a big reach with questionable value in todays league.

However if he can prove to be a good or even decent 3 point/long range shooter, it changes everything. Suddenly you've got an uber-athletic PF that can run, defend 3-5 and hit open shoots - extremely useful player.

Prove me wrong Bambam. shoot 10000 3's a day and become a better Ibaka.

Yeah even thou it was a glimpse, he looked extremely comfortable shooting and power taking it to the rim drenching in sweat. Looks like he is tough as nails. Small signs that can say so much. Look like the Heat can put him thru the gauntlet and he will enjoy it.

Slow and he can't dribble, he's not a PF imo. If TT can be a starting C in this league then I can see the intrigue in drafting him but suuch a reach man, gotta believe Pat knows what he's doing tho

Is it still the consensus still to expect Dion and JJ will be offered hi $$$$ contracts in FA?

Wondering with all the player movement and lower cap space if resigning them will be as challenging as has been reported.....

He's a C, ughh we used a lottery pick on an undersized C in a deep draft.

I don't understand, doesn't feel like a high risk, high upside pick... Just high risk

Yeah, I would definetely prefer someone with at least starter potential.

What Pat seen in workouts is why he is confident he is more than just a center. They didnt pick him with the perception that he is just a center. Whether they wrong or right about that remains to be seen. Luke Babbit cant dribble and he played powerforward and small forward. I do question his ability to handle the ball around the perimeter. Cutting to the basket or open court I think he will be fine. Passing is what I think really lacks in his game. But yeah he is a project offensively. They will likely try to use him like Ibaka and it will be a project for the next three years. His workouts could be an indication that he his ahead of schedule in his development.

Potential as a starter is just the same as everyone who was drafted in 14 and above, unless you were willing to take Giles.

You might be having a little to high of an expectation for a 14th pick. Are you expecting the quality of Draymond Green at 14?

Keep in mind that Luke Babbit himself was once a lotto pick....
