People seem to think he was dogging it on defense or something but at his size and age he simply isn't athletic enough to guard quik players. This was covered up by Gasol in the past but it was glaring in Sac. But it wasn't an effort thing all.
Unlike Hill he never complained about his time here and was really professional the entire season. Hopefully the younger guys learned something from his approach. You can be mad all you want about our front office and signing Zbo but i don't see how you can rip him. The kings should have known what they were getting. If the organization had acquired more talent we wouldn't have had to ask a 36 year old to be the focal point of our offense.
Personally, I like him as a player. As you mentioned, what I don't like is his role as a primary focus on offense with lots of iso plays. At that point his best role would be a solid contributor as an instant scoring option from the bench for 10-15 minutes. I think most of us thinking the same way here, rather than ripping him because he didn't give it all.
On the other hand, I disagree with your opinions of Hill. He was looking interested, positive and very supportive here, at least during game time
