Fultz has a 2 year 35m deal. Only 2m in 2023 is guaranteed. I don't think you value Isaac as much as the rest of the league. His lack of play this year is at least partially because we are tanking.pepe1991 wrote:Soo deep into politics
Back to Isaac and issue here. I struggle to find logic behind people who "Love" Weltman and Hammond, or support them in any way or fashion and in same time are angry at Isaac.
Vast majority of reports about players who are hurt comes from front officies of teams. This is one of reasons why you have president of basketball operations and GM for. To provide key informations to media and adress fans when it's needed.
It's bat**** crazy that guy has no timeline of return after missing 18 months of basketball. It's even more insaine that almost everybody knows he had some sort of stepback in rehab that was never adressed.
What he does in media, and why he ignores basketball talk is confusing, and he also needs to take portion of a blame for whole this mess. But he didn't exstend himself injuried, WeHam did, he is not asked to fill injury report for media, they are. What he is doing with his private life is annoying, even to people who share similar political views to him.
Ofc joining polarizing political people in mass media will create "haters". Personally, i wouldn't do it, i would prefer walking straight line as NBA player to not "lose" my fans for political views, and i would advise other players to do so. But they are grown up adults and they can do whatever they want with their lifes ( and that's why i always hate idea of "years of player development, like those are bunch of 13 years old kids ).
At the end of a day Weltman and Hammond payed this guy to play basketball. Decision to give up contract to player without knowing how he will look after rehab turned into very dumb idea that ages even worst. Goes without saying that they could force him into taking qualifing offer and hit free agency and still could sign him on much lower deal. They didn't. For same reasons they gave Vuc $100M, $84 to Gordon, $80 to Fultz. They don't want to upset players. And sure , that's valid strategy on team with defined role. It's much more dangerous strategy if you look lineup of upcomming Magic free agents in next 3 years.
