Its not Wall... its Porter. Having Porter will make us better

The Wall thing is overblown. It took 3 OT's to beat the worst team in basketball(Suns) by 3 points, and then a couple days later lost to the 2nd worst team in basketball (Bulls) by 10....
Wall didnt play in either game

:nonono:

That would be the #soWizards outcome. Looks like it's up to Beal to save the franchise by taking a dive.

I feel these kinds of statistical prognosticators will tend to overinflate value of players in smaller roles producing incredible results as though they will somehow be able to maintain those levels of production in a larger role and the team will happen to be better for it, when in reality someone is going to have to pick up more of the volume slack, even if it isn't the role player taking on the bigger role. In this case, the guy I feel skews the data is Sato. Don't get me wrong, he's a good player. He isn't a guy who's going to step in and take over Wall's role and keep the team winning, though. The only way that works is if Wall's value is taken over by someone else and the only player on the roster really poised to do that is Beal. Beal might be able to handle enough as a solo hinge player to make it work - he's done it before - but it's still far from ideal.

The worst case is desperation to reach the playoffs leading to a short-sighted move and ending up 9th or 10th.

The best case is realizing a lost season and at least revamping the team if not flat out tanking.

What I think is most likely is that getting below the tax ends up being the main factor and the Wizards end up about the 9th or 10th seed. Ariza for a dead-weight expiring seems to be the most likely deal - I figure they should be able to save between $3 and $5 million in luxury tax space.

There could be some justification for dealing Satorsky for a TPE, I would hope they could also get a 2nd in that deal.

No, there is zero justification for trading Sato for salary and a 2nd.
You want to rebuild this team, you need talent and hard workers.
Sato, Brown, Bryant Jr, Dekker... these are players that see the floor, are unselfish, go after loose balls, play defense... these are players that keep Beal from jumping in front of a metro bus. Your star players need an energetic supporting cast to keep them engaged.
At worst, it gives your coach a "Jolt" lineup if your stars are playing like garbage.

- Trade Ariza/Morris for relief
- Fire Eg/Brooks
- Draft Barrett, Bol, Zion, Ja, Rui, Reddish or Little with our pick
- Bring back Bryant, Sato, Robinson, and Dekker

Run it back next year and see if we have a Grizzlies type resurgence. At worst, it gives our new staff time to evaluate the team for rebuilding trade(s)

I should have been clearer - justification is from the Front Office mindset. I want to keep Sato assuming the price is reasonable.

If dealing Ariza/Morris gets the Wizards out of the tax, then those moves should be pursued.

SAS is such a attention w**** but no more about that...

I just watched some John Wall highlights from 2014-15 and damn, he was fit and played well. Pierce was such a great player and person to have around. It really sucks that he's been coached by morons (I'm not even gonna mention Ernie and his masterful mind) and Brooks has to be gone ASAP. I want to believe this injury affected Wall's game a lot because he's a tough cookie and tried to play through it. Medical team should've done better job with him and of course Brooks should've sat him more because he didn't play well. But no, Brooks is just so scared to hurt vets' feelings and focuses on bullying Brown. :banghead: :banghead:

Happy New Year everyone!

Why is SAS taking it out on Chase? Other than he is a clown.

THEY ARE FINALLY beginning to see the light. :D

I'm pleased with the last few transactions, additions, and this latest stroke of SMARTNESS in resting Wall.

OH... AS MUCH AS I DO NOT LIKE STEVEN A ...

He's old school. I'm the same way. Not running from anyone. Going to say what's on my mind. I do NOT LIKE THE DRAMA that pays Steven A. He creates stories with speculation that HAS TO AT TIMES BE ALMOST BASELESS. But, if he came to a locker room and I was a player who had a bit of a problem with him; I would at least speak (with a barrier of people to protect us both from any shenanigans or temper outburst that could lead to suspension/arrest). Steven A WANTS TO MAKE HIMSELF newsworthy and HE LOVES calling out folks' jobs.

Marvin Lewis' firing had to overjoy Smith.

I'll be happy WHEN Steven A. Smith gets run off the air.

Just a side note. Leonsis should make enough money to give Wall a free premium grammarly.com account. Wouldn't be surprised if that was the way Wall talks in real life haha
