Heard Ibaka is being slated to play more 5 for them either way. And Toronto could use all the cap flexibility they can handle with all the huge contracts already on the docket.

We should offer them Monroe for Val and a future 1st. Make it like 2020 unprotected.

Every year, there are deals to be made that can improve your team.

That is assuming you have cap space.

The next chance we have at having actual cap space is if Giannis leaves.

Good thing Henson, Mirza, Delly and Moose will all be expiring within the next few years to free up some space. We will be fine if we sign Middleton and Jabari but we need to stop paying crappy bench players 10 per year

We have cap space next summer as long as we don't sign Jabari to anything crazy. Moose, Hawes, Vaughn and Payton are expiring, we should have about $30m a year to sign Jabari and somebody else.

The problem is that when the Bucks have money to spend they behave like drunken sailors in southeast Asia.

Did I just see Baynes got signed on a one year $5 mill?

Luckily he's half as good as Henson.

Crazy to me that a guy who led his team in eFG% could be had for this contract.

maybe because it might not be repeatable (being well above his career norms), and the fact he's a bad defender?

He's really not a bad defender though and that first part sounds a lot like another guy I know of.

he's pretty dang bad, and there's a difference between a 25 y.o. guy having his career high (in his first year in a system he will continue to play in)vs. a 29 y.o. guy whose shooting spiked and will be going to a different team.

I mean, they're both NBA players who deserve significant court time, but they're not the same player.

25 - 38.4%
26 - 39.3%
27 - 34.5%
28 - 36.7%

While its true his shooting spiked this year he's always been a very solid/good shooter on a bunch of looks.

And his defense isn't bad at all, I don't even know where you get that from. Pretty much the only reason he stayed in the league before his shooting rounded into form and it really hasn't slowed much since then. In Indy he's literally guarded 1-4 effectively. He's not a negative defender, especially when he gives full effort.

Would have considered signing Miles just so he couldn't turn into Ray Allen every time he played us

I feel the same way.
Easy +2 to 4 games with him on our roster.

$4.3M, and he opted out of $6.5M :o

Granted, not sure you could pay me to play in Detroit.

Yeah right. Seems like he missed a winning culture.

^it was quite expected. He had a good season at Spain playing as a defensive combo forward. He makes GP2 look like a marksman though, and still believes he's an SG/SF. I think he's going to help them, his energy is infectious and they desperately needed greek rotational players.

Miles has been a good player for the better part of a decade. That's a good contract for him, and not surprising that it was the Raptors maneuvering into it. That said, this is a roster positioning move for them. Joseph is also a good player on a good contract, but Delon Wright is ready for the backup role and they needed another wing. Just smart begetting smart. Ujiri's only major mistake with the Raps to date was that Carroll contract.

I can't keep thinking that -had Indiana any interest in Delly- we could have been in Raptors' place at this deal, and avoid offering Snell that contract. Then we fill the backup PG spot with someone like S. Mack on the cheap (because we're the Buck though, we'd be signing Rose tbh...)

Not even close. That will only create luxury tax breathing room. They are WAAAAY over the cap right now. Every expiring contract is not cap space. Jabari's cap hold alone will account for all the cap space they are currently expected to have next summer.

The Jabari situation is terrible for the Bucks. His cap hold sucks. Then you have to worry about matching irresponsible offers and having an Arenas on your hands for 4 years or lose him for nothing. And you probably can't trade him for jack, because any team acquiring him knows they have to deal with the same situation and because he won't help anyone in the last year of his rookie deal. I'd much rather let his contract expire than deal with all that.
