Here is the only construction that works for both teams: Johnson+WCS+Boban with WCS probably siphoned off to a 3rd team. Dallas probably has to add a single 2nd so Cleveland can tell their fans they got something.
If Dallas could turn Powell and 2nds into any expiring contract that's a win, but then that's not a Drummond trade. That's a dump Dwight Powell trade because that is the primary benefit. But Cleveland isn't adding another bad contract on top of Love's bad contract without a real incentive and Dallas should not provide it.
Agree but Dallas should dump Powell somehow if they’re adding Drummond. I’m assuming if they like Andre they’ll re-sign for a lower amount, so they need to dump Powell if they want to retain cap space.
If they are keeping Drummond's cap hold in order to re-sign him next year, they won't be a cap space team and so Powell isn't a hindrance to anything but Cuban's wallet at that point. So the longer they can hold on him, the cheaper getting off him becomes.
I don't have Powell as a factor in a Drummond deal that views him as anything more than a rental. I just don't think Dallas should view him as a long-term piece because KP is only a center.

Strongly suspect that this is just leaked info to try to set the market for what Orlando is expecting teams to offer for Gordon.BBallFreak wrote:I just want LaMarcus Aldridge on the buyout market. If Aldridge is bought out, I suspect Dallas is option #1, then Portland #2.

Lowry added to the heat or Philly would be a great get for either team. For Philly he’d help in the post season in the half court and with Miami he’d fit right in and be another big shot taker and maker.
He’s a great veteran leader and still can play at a high level. If your saying giving him a long term deal that’s another issue but right now? He’d be a great add for either team
Agreed.
As always there's a cost benefit analysis and a lot of other players that would be great additions for those teams.
But yes if it was for free then sure. But it's not really saying much to say he'd be a great addition because he's not coming for free. If they Raps want to do him a favor though they could take a meaningless asset like a late first.

Raptors won’t trade him to Miami unless we get back Precious + 1st or Herro. Would still be worth it if Miami is seriously looking to make a push again this postseason
I would probably consider it.

Harrell for Malik Monk and Biyombo. Who says no?

Beasley is a true headcase and Minny is obligated to give GS a top 5 pick either this draft or next. Basically this is a baseless rumor.

This is the trade that needs to be made.

Nah, Collins does nothing to move the needle in the right direction for MIN and from everything I've read about him, he's not the easiest guy to deal with either.

Philly should be able to get this deal if they want it. They have more assets. No way that Miami gives up Herro for a potential 2 months rental.
No way the Celtics give up Smart.
Is Evan Fournier going to become the next player that the Ainge almost traded for? Might be a good fit, although they still need a center, "cough" Myles Turner "cough"

None of that addresses my also very valid concerns about trading for a soon to be 35 year old PG and how that has almost always gone for non top of their generation players. Along with him being apart of a team putting up those numbers on a team falling off a cliff...
Believe it or not you can believe a player succeed and me one fail and both of reasons for it be rooted in logical reasons and based on facts.
Sure it does. You said a team would be desperate to add him. How is it desperate to add a near-all star player THIS year to win a title?
How is it desperate to add a 35 year PG? How is that short sighted? How is it questionable how good he'll be in a new system?
Just stop.

Aldridge alone won't move the needle much for the Heat. Yes they need a big, but they also need another ball handler/scorer, their offense has been horrible much of the season. Lowry as pg can run the pick and roll with Bam, initiate offense, shoot 3s and provide another scorer. He's also a good defender, the Heat need to get him if they can without giving up Herro.
