One of the reasons I like Star Trek is that it presents a hopeful vision of a society where humans aren't constantly at each others' throats over resources. Unfortunately, I think it's more likely we develop warp drives and food replicators before getting rid of pump and dump schemes. Wherever we venture in the cosmos, human nature tags along with us.
That said, it's still pretty funny to see diet Tony Stark grift people left and right while getting praised as a visionary.
