He's still averaging 17/10/3 per 36 this year with a 17 PER. Imagine if we actually played him how he might produce (or don't imagine and just think back to last year where he averaged 12/9/2 after all star break). He could've at least got 10-15 mpg like he did last year when he was banished to the shadow realm but nah Horny hates success and so do Knicks fans.
If 9 minutes a game is not enough to see him play, then HE HAS TO FIGHT AND EARN MORE MINUTES. That's why I only like per 36 stats to a certain extent, because if a player isn't playing 36 minutes, there's usually a good reason for it. That's how guys like David West have higher PERs than KP and other All Stars. The logic 'Imagine if we had actually played him x amount, then he could've gotten x points/rebounds etc, and he would've been worth x more' is an EXTREMELY faulty one. We as fans don't see the players that much but the coaches do. And playing him more could go both ways, in that it could LOWER his value too. You can't just take the best case scenario or the ceiling. You have to take into account his floor too.
First off he averaged 12/9/2 after all star break last year and for the last 25-30 games of the year was the clear 3rd best player on the team at the age of 22. Who else but the Knicks would make a player "earn his minutes" after that? Secondly he was averaging 17/10/3 on 59 TS% per 36 and had a 17 PER. Is that not good production in limited time? How is he supposed to earn minutes if he can't have time to average more than 4 ppg.
Also Jeff also saw Sessions was the best PG on the team and started him. He saw Noah deserved more minutes than Willy last year. How can y'all in once sentence call him incompetent and in the next trust his opinion on a player he's hated since day one? All this BS you posted would make sense if Willy wasn't third in ROY voting and first team all rookie. He is already proven you're just hard headed.
Funny part is the same dudes dogging Willy want Frank to start and get more PT when Willy was a way better rookie than Frank. FOH y'all not slick.
Who else but the Knicks make a player earn minutes after all that? How bout EVERY winning organization! You have to continue to earn your minutes. Guys get moved and traded every year, and there's always someone who wants your spot. Melo forced a trade which brought in Kanter, clearly an upgrade over Willy. O'Quinn outplayed him. So he has to earn his minutes over those guys, yes! Who is Willy that he should be gifted minutes over those guys? You can be good, and someone can still be better!
Hornacek saw Sessions was the best PG, until he saw that he wasn't. Jack outplayed him and earned those minutes. Jack, who was a late pickup with an injuries galore and no history with this coach and a young top ten player drafted at his position, EARNED the starting spot, but Willy who was All Rookie last year, played internationally so should have been in EXCELLENT shape couldn't come in and beat Kyle friggin O'Quinn for minutes?!?! Nah, YOU AINT SLICK NEITHER BRUH!!!!
Michael Carter Williams was Rookie of the Year... Has he earned the starting spot for whatever team he's playing for now?!?! You have to KEEP EARNING YOUR MINUTES, otherwise someone can and WILL take your spot. And for the record, I'm not in any rush to see Frank start. I want him to take the job and beat Jack and anyone else we may or may not bring in. If we bring in Payton, then he has to fight for that spot, and may the best man win... I don't want no players who see competition and starting b*tching about it.
