Oh, I'm sure its more than possible. There would be great rejoicing in the city of brotherly love.

Right. What the hell would the Celtics do with a capable big man?

Boston gets-DJ
LA gets-Melo
NY gets-Amir, Smart, Wes Johnson, Mickey, Young. Send them the "18" Brooklyn and Memphis pick.
PG-Thomas/Rozier
SG-Bradley/Rozier
SF-Crowder/Brown/Jerebko
PF-Horford/Kelly
C-DJ/Zeller
Still keep the "17". Need to sign a vet guard. Front court and starting backcourt are set though. Thoughts?

People understand that Ainge and the Celtics are trying to win?
The mind reels. What is so sexy about low post scoring that Okafor won't go away even after Philly's proven to be significantly better with him OFF the floor? Oh right, 1980s McHale fever dreams.
Odds are we overpay for "stars" and hit a ceiling as a 55 win also-ran, like Chicago, OKC, Memphis, Houston etc.
Okafor is on a rookie deal and he's hugely undervalued right now. Great buy low opportunity.
Ibaka is the opposite - overvalued for being on good OKC teams, about to cash in on a max deal he deserved five years ago when he blocked three shots a game. He's been trending down since then. Let someone else pay him - Presti won the hell out of that trade with Orlando - Oladipo is trending up, Sabonis is surprisingly solid, and Ibaka is underwhelming.

Something with Cleveland/NY by themselves makes too much sense.
And I think the Clippers' play would be either to deal spare parts or Blake, not DJ. The rationale for those old Blake rumors from the summer was that they liked the idea of having Rudy Gay (or Carmelo) play the 4 next to DJ to stretch the defense. Blake-for-Melo would be a huge win for the Knicks to put a blockbuster player next to Porzingis - who can complement him better on offense than Jordan did - and a huge win for the Clippers, even if it makes them older.

A guy racking up DNP-CDs for a high lotto team who plays worlds better with him off the floor is not undervalued, he's just bad.
His size doesn't help the Celtics just because it is size. He doesn't defend at all or rebound all that well, and he doesn't fit the offense in the slightest. How does the actual player help? Not the idea of the player and his supposed potential. The real guy.
