Wish shoo would man up and tell wade he can go ham in quarters 1-3 because he is sitting 4 and see how the rest of the team responds. Got to break our bad habits. So many more options on the team nite we should be using that to our advantage. Wade cutting without the ball is a beautiful thing we don't use nearly enough. Joe is a wizard and the roofs are showing new things every game. Can spo be proactive with changes?
That's what I've also been trying to to say. Wade can still be great and make plays with the ball in his hands, but when he locks in to playing off the ball he can be even more effective (especially at this point in his career). MJ was still the best player in the league at 34-35, but at that point in his career he was doing most of his damage off the ball and in the post. Obviously D-Wade isn't Jordan (nobody is) but he has some similarities in his game; a great post game, and great off ball instincts.
Wade was super efficient playing more off the ball from 2011-2014 when he relinquished most of the playmaking duties to LeBron and developed his game playing away from the ball. Of course with LeBron on your team he gets most of the attention, so it was easier for Wade to be effective off the ball because he wasn't getting the same type of attention he got in years passed. Even without LeBron, up to this point we've built up a pretty good team to where Wade shouldn't have to feel like he has to do everything for us to be successful.
And finally we're also going to need Spo to grow a pair and stop coddling Wade. Wade is the only player on the team that gets away with literally everything. Spo has no problems yanking out other player for simply making a one bad play, but Wade can have continuous bad plays and he stays in the game. And for the life of me, I don't understand how Spo hasn't forced Wade to work on his 3 point shot. Josh Richardson literally could not buy a jump to start this season and in less than a year he has turned into our best shooter because forced him to practice those shots. Wade has been in the league for 13 years and is still afraid to shoot the 3; and I blame Spo for that because I think he coddles him too much. Sorry for the rant guys, but it's just frustrating watching my all time favorite player's play as of late because it has been hurting the team.
