The Bears announced that restricted free agent LB Jamar Williams had signed his one-year tender offer Wednesday afternoon. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Williams had a career-high 49 tackles during the 2009 season with two pass breakups and 10 special-teams stops in 16 games. In Week 13 against the Rams, Williams recorded a career-high 19 tackles while starting at weak-side linebacker, the third-most by a Bears player in a single game since at least 1995.
Entering his fifth NFL season in 2010, the 2006 fourth-round draft pick (120th overall) has 78 defensive tackles, one sack, six pass breakups and 43 special-teams stops in 51 career games with the Bears.
