Jazz get: Jusuf Nurkic, 2031 Suns pick, three second round picks from Suns
Nets get: 22nd pick, $14.2m TPE
Suns: Walker Kessler, Dorian Finney Smith, two second round picks from the Nets
Why for Jazz: Trade a good player they don't like for a high risk, high reward pick.
Nets: Get decent value for DFS
Suns: Get a good starting center (who can actually dunk which will help their offense a lot and can block shots and thus can help their defense) at a very low salary and get a pretty good bench wing while still having 3 second round picks to attach to one of their contracts to potentially make another move using the contracts of DFS or Royce if either fall off next year.

I see why the Suns do it but why anyone else? And is it legal?

Re: UTA-BKN-PHX
the second round picks feel confusing/complicated/unnecessary.
Utah does it without getting seconds IMO, unless that pick has protection*.. and then if you need the seconds in, why not just have 2 seconds from Brooklyn +1 from Phoenix going to Utah? Brooklyn is paying Phoenix, for Phoenix to pay Utah?
Especially since Phoenix only can actually trade 2 seconds. (Boston 2028 protected and Phoenix 2031)
I think Utah might be able to get a second from each team. But it’s not really needed.
I think all three teams do this, but could be simplified down some.

The bolded is a broken record of absolute nonsense at this point. As for the proposal, it might be a reluctantly accepted option-K if Ainge's "big game hunting" is a bust.

... NO, YOU MOVE."

Horrifically slanted in favor of PHX. They unlaod the worst contract and get the best player and prospect. Simply confusing as to why the other teams play ball with this.

Trading a decent prospect for a high variance pick is exactly what Utah should be doing.
Losing value by taking on Nurk to get it done is fine. Utah can still renegotiate Lauri and Nurk can start next to him until Utah picks a real direction.
22nd is an overpay for DFS, which should weigh in some on dumping Nurk.
I think even if Utah loses on value, they should do it.

Maybe I still have some rose colored glasses for DFS and my opinion of Nurk being overpaid, stiff, and not that reliable is clouding my judgement, but think PHX owes more
