CLE-NOP Trade

Post#1 » by rambo_ortega » Fri Jul 5, 2024 3:01 am

Cavs Get:
Brandon Ingram

They get a combo forward who can add firepower to their offense and move Mobley to the 5 spot

Garland/Mitchell/Strus/Ingram/Mobley

Pelicans Get:
Jarett Allen
Isaac Okoro

They get a starting C who fits the timeline of their stars

McCollum/Murray/Jones/Zion/Allen

I’d probably do Allen, Niang, and Jerome since Ingram is expiring. They can cut Jerome since he’s not guaranteed and save roughly 8-9 million. I’d prefer to use Okoro in a S&T for Miles Bridges or something if possible or just keep him.

Non-guaranteed contracts become guaranteed to the degree they are matching salary in trades.

Setting aside Ingram's expected future salary, which by all appearances is a threshold issues for the Cavs, Okoro is a RFA. He'd have to be S&T'd and that really complicates things for a number of reasons.

Jarret Allen isn’t winning you anything. Garland won’t show up in the playoffs. Mobley is a glorified dunk man. Mitchell has some experience but is a liability on defense. To me, the Cavs are a treadmill team.

I would want Nance returned in the scenario.

Cavs would need at least Missi sent back if they are trading Okoro and Allen.

Oh yeah, the Murray trade.
