Walker Kessler 'Essentially Unavailable' In Trade Talks With Jazz

Post#1 » by RealGM Wiretap » Mon Jan 27, 2025 7:13 pm

Walker Kessler is believed to be essentially unavailable by the Utah Jazz ahead of the Feb. 6 trade deadline. Kessler has been a center target for the Los Angeles Lakers, New York Knicks, among others.

Kessler is averaging 11.3 points, 11.4 rebounds and 2.4 blocks in 29.8 minutes across 64 games this season for the Jazz. Kessler was the No. 22 overall pick in the 2022 draft out of Auburn.

While the Jazz have reportedly discussed Kessler trades since the offseason, they have maintained a high asking price. In October, the Jazz were reportedly looking for two first rounders for Kessler.

Kessler, who becomes extension eligible this offseason, is represented by Aaron Mintz, Houston Kessler, Dave Spahn.

Danny Ainge charades -- advertising Walker Kessler as if he is the second coming of Bill Walton.

No GM in their right mind wants to deal with the Jazz -- trades & negotiations are about being equitable for both teams

not really getting the sentiment here, Ainge makes as many trades as anyone more or less so he clearly knows how to cut a deal. If the Jazz feel like they don’t really want to trade Kessler now unless they get a big return I’m not sure why you’re upset. Makes a lot of sense they’d rather keep him than get a pick or something likely worse than him, and besides you don’t have a right to just name a price for any player.

Your right Danny will hold on for the next sucker but I don't think they are coming for Kessler I think he lost out on not trading Lauri too who was on a great contract and is now instead overpaid and not that desirable.. Kessler is currently on excellent contract but will be getting paid sooner rather than later. They certainly can keep him and hope they draft a star soon that they build with and keep Kessler around..

Handle being "njknicks" was all you needed to see to know it would be a bad hot take... Those blinded by hate see their posts clouded by their own emotions.

Remember back to Sep 2022, just hours before the Jazz-Cavs trade... when 7 knicks fans here were positive that Ainge was *lying* about having any other suitors for Donovan Mitchell
