Agreed, the officiating of game 5 in LA was down right hilarious for the Jazz.

The refs easily donated 8 points to the Lakers and took them away from the Jazz, so it's good to see it even out, even if it is for the Celtics instead of the Jazz.

Or how about Games 1 and 2.. especially Game 2 where they shot what? 30 more freebies than we did? And they had the nerve to tell US not to complain and now they're bitching up a storm???

**** the Lakers and especially their hypocritical fans. God knows it's gonna even out in L.A. so why complain about it?

Funny I have an account on Fan Voice and Root Zoo and all the Laker fans are whining saying its a conspiracy and they just want the Celtics to win. They had no problem saying the refs are only human when the Lakers won but everytime they lose its all the refs... Funny hyprocrite Laker fans.... GO CELTICS!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well, Jazz fans mocked Rockets fans for their complaints, then Lakers fans mocked us for our complaints...losing teams blame refs, winning teams claim superiority. It's the cirrrrrcle of liiiiife...

It's funny that people think Kobe is on the same level as Jordan.

A guy who hasn't ever accomplished anything with out having a HOF big man around him being compared to a guy who one six championships in the most talented pool of players the NBA has ever seen, with out any talent over 6'9.

Kobe's not even the best player in the league, that title belongs to LeBron, and yet Lakers fans tell themselves he's as good or better then the GOAT.

That's hilarious.

I'd agree that it's a bit premature to be putting him on the same level as Jordan, but Kobe's definitely better than LeBron right now.

I think Kobe has been put on a pedestal that people don't actually look at. The idea that his defense is what sets him apart is simply ridiculous. It only matters if he really is playing great defense, and he hasn't done that in quite a while.

Give LeBron Gasol, Fisher, Bynum, Phil Jackson, and the rest of the players on the Lakers and there is now way that this is even a series right now.

LeBron is far more dominant, has been a better team players since he stepped into the league, and does more by himself then Kobe has. He also took his team to the finals through the team that beat Kobe even when he had Shaq.

LeBron is so under-appreciated right now because of the Kobe era it's a bit disheartening.

It's amazing how good a player can become when he has the referees in his back pocket... If DWill got the calls that Kobe got, WE would be in the finals right now. We will have our time, just be patient Jazz fans. Ignorant Faker fans like shortodom don't realize that the Jazz will reach new heights with this team.

Oh, and I LOVE seeing the Lakers get their asses handed to them. Couldn't happen to a more deserving bunch of DBags... And all their stupid fans will be able to do is complain about conspiracies and love being 2nd best. I can't wait for Kobes fart sniffers to be left with a nasty taste in their mouths...

It is quite funny, I must admit. Though they have every right to complain.

I don't think that conspiracies are in it, no way in hell. If you throw that around, you should drop the NBA and go somewhere else. Any fan who says that and sticks around to root for his team is a self proclaimed douchebag.

I just think that referees get blinded by star power, mystique of legendary franchises, and the big one: the power of 20,000 fans screaming at you.

Its a shame that these games can be influenced so much by people that aren't even playing. To me, its the biggest flaw in the NBA product.

I didn't watch the whole game but with what I saw, Celtics deserved to shoot more free throws. They looked like they attacked the basket more.`

You can certainly make an argument for LeBron since he's such an imposing physical specimen and such a dominant player. However, Kobe just has such a smooth, polished, practically flawless game. LeBron is dominant going to the basket, but while he's a decent three point shooter, if you take away the lane from him, he struggles. We saw that in the finals last year. He's basically all power and no finesse. He's got essentially no mid range game, an average three point shot and a surprisingly weak, or, at best, under-utilized, post up game for someone his size. Kobe is vastly, vastly superior in each of those areas and is also phenomenal going to the basket and finishing, getting to the line, or both. LeBron is a better passer, but it's not by much and Kobe's become a lot less selfish this year and made his teammates a lot better. The gap on defense isn't as big as it's made out to be, but Kobe still is a better defender.
I'm not a huge Kobe fan and I try not to put him on a pedestal, and I have a hard time believing that LeBron, who pretty much everyone agrees is either the best or second best player in the league, is much more well liked than Kobe and has been hyped like crazy since before he was halfway done with high school, is underappreciated. I've gotta give the edge to Kobe though, even if he--like every other "superstar," including LeBron--has the refs in his pocket.

I actually find it infuriating, not funny. I'm pissed off that Brewer and co. playing a lot "cleaner" D on Kobe got called for every breath he took on Kobe, while they let guys like Bowen and Posey, not only grab, but pull shove and smack Kobe all around without a call. If they'd call our series that way, we'd definatelly won, and that's what pissed me off, not Kobe or the Lakers, as they aren't the ones to blame or hate for that.

Kobe BTW, is NO DOUBT the best player there is. We saw it live 3 times, and the way he basically took apart SA without the FTs (9 total FTA in the series I think) was legendary. It's a shame some of you are so hatefull toward him that you lose out on what is a great player. It's just like with Jordan. Sure I hated losing to that "bum", but when it was all said and done, you had to sit down and say: "Damn, it's just not fair, he's that good".

BTW, I dislike these Celtics more that the Lakers. LA actually developed a team (that got better when adding Gasol of course), but the Celtics basically just bought their team. Only Gasol is "new" to the Lakers (and he came mid-season because of Bynum's injury), while almost all of the Celtics are new to Boston (this season). I think Boston got their the cheap way, while LA, actually developed a team (that was benefited with Gasol, but the rest have been up and comming for a while) just like we are doing. In that sense, I want LA to win. That and the fact that it makes us look even better (to only lose to the Champs two years in a row).

I agree completely with this post up until the part about disliking the Celtics more than the Lakers. While it's obviously a matter of personal preference, I don't think the fact that the Celtics traded for two extremely likable superstars who have been on less than stellar teams practically their entire careers when those two players became available makes them any less likable.
Paul Pierce and the Celtics had to suffer through several years of what can best be described as mediocrity waiting for their young talent to develop. When the chance came to abandon a fairly promising future in favor of a much more promising present, they, like any rational team would, took it. There was no guarantee that putting three superstars together with a group of unproven youngsters and solid, but far less than spectacular veteran role players would work, but every player on the team, from the stars down, has committed himself to team play and extremely tough defense and a lot of different guys have accepted and fit into roles in the interest of winning. What's not to like about that? The Lakers, on the other hand, are far too cocky and whiny for my likings.
