The swimming has got me fixated. I'm not crazy about the breaststroke, but the rest of it is GOLD.
Last night they had the 4x100 relay. It was the last segment of the late edition. The french were the overwhelming favorite. Rowdy Gaines former gold medalist and current color analyst said, "He'd played this event in his head a million times and it always came out with the same result, France wins everytime I analyze it."
Phelps is involved in this event adding more drama to his GOLD sweep, 8 for 8. I'm like, "Damn I thought the only tough one was the 400IM, now a relay where we aren't favored and he has to rely on 3 others? Oh no!"
He had his toughest race already and got gold the 400IM and got the WR as well as the GOLD. Even more drama the french were talking mess. "We are going to smash the American's, that's why we came here." The one doing the talking was the one who swims the anchor leg of the relay.
The same one who got PWND on he final leg where American Jason Lezack, who's 32 going on 50, had the FASTEST LEG IN OLYMPIC HISTORY and won by a hair, an incredible comeback because the American's were clearly in second the entire race. He caught up the final 10 feet, just an amazing victory. It was the best swim race I have ever witnessed, just an amazing will to win comeback.
I hope you guys were able to see this LIVE. It was like the last segment LIVE before midnight. The guys were pure emotion after the victory, complete with Swartzanegger pose downs. It was like Kobe hitting a last second shot, pure joy to watch. I wailed out a scream, a "Woooooo!", in my asleep by 8PM everybody but me neighborhood, with the window wide open to save on AC bills.
