*DONE* WCF Game 6 Lakers v.s. Nuggets 5/29 6pm

Post#1 » by miggs » Thu May 28, 2009 4:10 am

TODAY'S SPECIAL GUEST IS....

<DRUMROLL>

THE BAD LOSER...
THE RAT...
THE SKILL-LESS BALLER...

COBY KARL!!!

Image

PLEASE FIND COBY BELOW...

First of all, let me say that I had this GT made Wednesday night while Game 5 was going but when I clicked submit, it sent me to the log-in screen and when I actually did log-in, the GT was gone! I put in so much effort and emotion into it that I was too overwhelmed to attempt to re-create it but today I woke up fired up like I knew I would so I’m sorry it’s late boys but enjoy and piece of my purple & gold heart!

So… Game 5 was a slight disappointment to me at first, I wanted a humiliation like they did to us in Denver but by the next day I was happy because perhaps that meant that the Lakers would come out full bore in Game 6 and close out the Nuggets. Could it be so I thought? Can the Lakers send one message to Cleveland & Orlando saying “WE’RE HERE FOR THE TROPHY!”?

And now, at last, Friday has arrived. It’s now 9:50am… just 8 hours & 9 mins until showtime! I can feel the tension in the air already, conversing with people at Starbuck’s this morning, on my way up to the office and even with some clients. The P&G train is roaring through all of L.A. now, the flags are blazing about in the cool Friday breeze… today history continues to be made…

WHEN: May 29, 2009 @ 6:00 PM (PST)
WHERE: PEPSI CENTER
BROADCASTING: ESPN

SERIES HISTORY:

GAME 1: LAL 105, DEN 103
GAME 2: DEN 106, LAL 103
GAME 3: LAL 103, DEN 97
GAME 4: DEN 120, LAL 101
GAME 5: LAL 103, DEN 94

I don’t know about you guys but…

I am f’n sick and tired of hearing people say the Denver Nuggets can eliminate the Lakers. I respect the Nuggets and I must admit I root for Carmelo, he’s one of my favorite guys to watch. However, these are the playoffs and so, Carmelo is the enemy and I want nothing more than to shut these skeptics up. We’ve allowed Denver to be placed on this pedestal as a team that has the potency and immediate ability to knock of the Lakers, WTF IS THAT?!?!?! Let’s bust up these chumps and let ‘em know who the better team clearly is.

I am f’n sick and tired of seeing Nene, Chris Andersen and Kenyon Martin dominate like they have been over our bigs. Nene is a wanna be thug, Andersen is a limited-skilled big, and Martin is another wanna be thug, take these chumps out!!! Birdman bites on EVERY pump, Nene is not as tough as he seems, and Martin is a punk who needs to be embarrassed to be shut up. We need our bigs to step in and do as they surely can, DOMINATE! I’m calling you out Mr. I-JUST-SIGNED-A-MAX-EXTENSION! Bynum has been solid as of late but we’ll need another solid game from him as well as Pau pounding in as he has shown flashes of doing, and L-BOOGIE, keep doing what you’re doin and we got a Game 6 victory!

I am f’n sick and tired of seeing J.R. Smith taunt like some moron after every three he makes. What rock did this lame son of a b*tch come from?!?! Step the D up and throw this guy out of his game, quit making him look like Manu and remember he’s J.R., frustrate him a bit and he’ll be cracked like a bottle in a club! He loves to pour in 3 pointers when the victory is clearly secured, I know saw that in Game 4, so let’s shut him up as well as the fans up in Denver. Let’s make sure they don’t think Game 3 was a fluke, let them know that they can expect a loss when that P&G comes into the Pepsi Center.

I am f’n sick and tired of people saying this team is out, I admit I don’t think this team is a sure thing, however, it’s a sure talent. We just have to put in the effort, that’s all, we have all tools of a champion except that consistent hustle. We cannot allow those non-believers win! We cannot allow Denver to come back to L.A. for a Game 7. We cannot disappoint the Mikan dynasty, nor the West/Chamberlain legacy, nor the Showtime era, nor the Shaq-Kobe dynasty… today we must take the win and secure another opportunity to add another banner to the collection.

LET’S GO LAKERS!!!

Starting for the Denver Nuggets…
Chauncey Billups
Dahntay Jones
Carmelo Anthony
Kenyon Martin
Nene

J.R. Smith
Chris Andersen
Lenas Kleiza
Anthony Carter

AND NOW... FOR YOUR LOS ANGELES LAKERS!!!!!!!!!!

Key to good defense and good offense:

Give Sasha under 4 minutes

Drop Fisher's minutes to like 15 minutes in favor of Brown

I know sitting both is the best thing, but not going to happen with Phil
Sasha Vujacic = The Phail Machine = The Ring Blocker

Trade Sasha before he ruins the Lakers next season.

Will this finally be the game that we've all been waiting for. They gotta got out there, no bs and have one thing on their mind, finish the series now. You know Kobe is gonna have it, but the team we saw tonight, are we gonna see them again in Game 6. They better, if they really want to win a title.

need to play with effort, intensity, a sense of urgency

and as always: get it into the big guys, work inside out, make your shots and rebound
throw in a little defense and it's a sure win!

GO LAKERS

I have more confidence in this game than game 4. I knew going in it was going to be an L, just a feeling, and knew going in game 5 was going to be a W. This one I believe we can win.

Would be nice for the Lakers to finish the series in 6.

That would be 5 full days of rest before the finals, assuming the Lakers make it to the finals!

Pau & Kobe have looked pretty damn tired, and a road win would really be good for building the courage and heart to win in a hostile environment.

Gasol - Odom - Ariza - Bryant - Brown...this lineup should see a bulk of the minutes in my opinion. On defense it gives us the length to make passing lanes more difficult, deflect passes and defend at the basket. On offense Shannon's doing a better job of not only spacing the floor but making the right cuts when Kobe's getting doubled off the pick and roll.

Has anyone wondered the same thing?

Why do we have Andrew Bynum guarding Kenyon Martin, and Gasol guarding Nene on defense? I think putting Bynum on Nene would be the better option.. and I think Gasol is quicker to get out and contest Martin's mid-range jumper after penetration.

Just makes no sense to me.. It would keep Bynum closer to the rim, where he'll rebound better.. and Pau won't have to take so much of a pounding by Nene's big body inside.

Go Lakers!
We have to play a smart game as well as one with heart and hustle.

Given this is an elimination game, it would be great if the Lakers came out with defensive intensity and pounded the ball inside and got off to a lead. I think under the pressure of elimination, the Nuggs will start jacking up shots from all over and get away from their game plan which has been dribble penetration by Billups and Smith and isolating Anthony.
If we get a lead, I think the Nuggs will feel the pressure and not play smart. The only one that can keep them on track would be Billups.

Get on the boards.
Play solid D
Go to Pau and Bynum early and often
Get LO involved early, maybe by posting him up(he did a great job in Game 5 when he was posting up)
Limit their offensive rebounds
Get an early lead
They will go on runs...just prevent them from going on big runs (Phil better use his timeouts)

Let's go.
Let's get this done
