Two moves I think we should do...

Post#1 » by Traxxe » Tue Jun 30, 2009 1:56 pm

I think we should send Robin Lopez for our #1 pick back next year.
I think we should trade Wallace for Chandler and get their 2010 top ten protected pick from NO.

NO has the highest payroll in the league right now. They might pull a Suns and do a salary dump with a pick if we take them to the wire on the deal.

That would give us two picks in next years draft. Then, if we do the Amare trade and get another #1 pick, that would give us three first next year in a much better draft. That bodes well for a rebuilding team.

I would trade all three and S&T Nash for a shot at Mr. Wall :P

Couple of rumors were floated about it that Oklahoma was offering our pick back for Lopez.

I'm not going to work for you, look it up.

I'm not saying it's true. I'm saying we should do it if it is there.

I'll give Lopez + Tucker + a second for our pick back if it can be done, and we will take back Watson or Atkins if they want to dump them. Then do the Wallace/Chandler+Pick deal, and yes, we get 2 picks. Trade Amar'e, and even if we don't get a pick, Beidrins + Wright + Buike is good enough for me if we have our pick back. Dump JRich for Dally + 2010 first, and bam 3 picks.

Nash/Watson/Dragic
Azubuike/Barbosa/Dudley
Clark/Dudley/Buike
Wright/Amundson/Clark
Beidrins/Amundson

+ if nash leaves, we have THREE 1sts, one being ours, one NO's, and one PHI's in 2010 + we have a core of Buike/Barbosa/Clark/Wright/Beidrins. DAMN GOOD :)

First off, Sarver needs to use the Ben Wallace contract like the Lakers used the Grizzlies and the Spurs used the Bucks. That contract is an asset to be used. Lets do some simple math

1) Shaq deal - buying out Pavlovic saves $3.3m

2) Trading Amare - its the 15/25% rule, I forget. Lets just say its within 15%, Suns need to only take back like $14.5m in salary - so conservatively, another $2m savings.

3) Wallace for Tyson Chandler and filler lets say - again the chance at $2-3m in dollar savings

So, by my count, thats around $7-8m in dollar savings - some of that doubled, or all of it, for luxury tax savings.

So, if Sarver doesn't use the Wallace contract for what it can be - he is making serious mistake. Granted, if he gets the original Amare deal, thats one thing. But still, I think he needs to use that contract, maybe after 60 days combine with JRich and really help the team and the long term cap situation.

One other thing, with Yao Ming out - I am sure the Rockets would take on JRich's contract - granted, if McGrady is not healty, thats not good. But hypothetically, McGrady, Battier, Landry for JRich and Amare. Then trade Chandler for Wallace. Just throwing it out there...

If a good deal for Amare can't be found, why not offer the MLE to Gortat? Dude is very similar to Biedrins statistically and size wise, half the price. We'll make up the MLE money with the Ben Wallace buy out, and have a 25 year old mobile rebounding machine with a mid-range game who can play next to Nash and / or Amare. Personally, I like Gortat better than Chandler anyway. No injury issues, younger, better statistical production.

What is the infatuation with Side Show Bob? Dude is mediocre at best. If the Suns trade Stupidmire that unprotected 1st round pick we gave to OKC becomes very valuable. I don't think it would be to high a price to get rid of Side Show to get a potential lottery pick back. If Kerr doesn't want to trade Side Show is it because it would again show he screwed up? If its possible the Suns should pull the trigger to get our 1st round pick back and trade Amare for a good deal. I don't want to see another Gasol/Kwame swap. (although I wouldn't put it past Kerr/Sarver to make that kind of deal)

I have a hard time separating my affection for FroLo from any attempt at assessing his real potential.
He's a very likable kid and he works hard, good attitude, shows flashes. And he also looks terrible at other times and borderline hopeless. So I'm 50-50 with him.

I'd have to think seriously about taking that pick back ...

agree about RLo but i would definitely want our pick back. then we could trade amare or do whatever is best to rebuild quickly (IF we have to trade amare at all i mean).

if the suns suck next year and OKC gets a top pick, kerr will have to kill himself according to the laws of the bushido. no one wants it to come to that, but it will.
