2011 Lockout

I couldn't help but to notice who was heading the charge on the "Board of Governors' Labor Relations Committee".

Many Are Predicting Lockout In 2011

Many believe that the NBA's current revenue system is broken and that the league is headed for a lockout in 2011.

The Board of Governors' Labor Relations Committee is set to meet with the National Basketball Players Association on Tuesday to begin discussing a new collective bargaining agreement.

Cleveland owner Dan Gilbert, Phoenix's Robert Sarver and Oklahoma City's Clay Bennett are all on the committee. The league's last lockout occurred in 1997, when the owners last wanted to make serious changes.

Finding an in between is going to be difficult with the owners and players jostling for percentage points of the league's revenue.

I'd say Uncle Benny has the most to gain from a restructured CBA. He just moved into a small market. He has an outstanding young stable in thanks to Presti. His young studs won't be due for a new contract until the Collective Bargaining Agreement has been resolved. Maybe with the new CBA Bennett can afford to pay for all 4 of the young studs instead of only being able to afford 3 when they are looking to re-sign.

The conspiracy theorist in me wonders if Bennett is scratching Sterns back with co-heading the charge on this.

This is interesting.. how big is the committee? I thought I read before that the Spurs owner was in on this.

Slick I wonder if you are thinking about the BOG (Board of Governors)? I thought the Spurs owner was involved with the BOG too.

Looks like this is a new committee headed up for the up coming lock out I mean new collective bargaining agreement. Looks like it might be an off shoot to the BOG.

I just can't help but to think Bennett is jumping on this in part that Stern/owners didn't really make a stink about Bennett moving the team.

Almost like they saw this coming.

Thinking hey if Bennett is willing to fight this battle for us/owners we won't get in the way of you moving the Sonics.
