I like the Heave Rule idea

NBA heave rule change, explained
The NBA also plans to introduce a new stat change that would encourage teams to heave up long-distance shots at the end of each quarter. The "heave rule," as it's being unofficially called, would count those last-second shots as team shots and not be tied to the individual player who launched the ball from long distance.

In the past, a missed desperation heave would be attributed to the player who took the shot. Since a large majority of those shots don't go in the basket, players would see their stats suffer as a result of an end-of-quarter heav

Lol, the heave rule could be great as far as impact but it's so embarrassing that it ever needed to be considered. Derrick Rose never gave AF, I know that.

I hope the player gets credit for made shots instead of the “team”.

I want all of Rose's heaves retroactively adjusted.

Eh, I don't like it.

So if they miss its a team shot. What happens if it goes in? Stupid rule, IMO.

I’d be fine with a make not counting, too, to make it more fair. Though obviously makes are rare enough it’s not going to have much impact on your stats.

I like the rule because watching guys intentionally throw up a heave after the clock has expired is so lame.

I agree it's lame that players care so much about their stats so they won't throw up a heave at the end of a quarter. But I just think it's equally lame to try and incentivise them to throw them up and make it not count towards their stats if they miss.

But I also think it's dumb the not count missed shots whilst being fouled but they do count if they go in.

The heave rule is stupid and if players care more about their stats than winning the game, so be it, why bend over rules for those guys? Lame.
Jokic doesn't care about his stats, he is one of the best, why would someone else put their stats over the game? Nice to see a list of who takes heaves and who doesn't.

Looks like Joker leads the league in heave attempts.
Steph leads the league in heave makes.

No surprise, two guys who are all about winning not their stats (which are still insane).

If there was a "heave that just barely missed the time expiration" category I think KD would lead.

My guess is Kirk Hinrich is the Bulls career leader in this category.

This guy needs to just stop doing things. If he's going to do anything, make the coaches wear suits again.
