draft of all players

Post#1 » by asdfgh » Fri Jul 1, 2011 8:37 pm

Assuming that all teams' rosters were cleared and there was a draft with the Bulls having the 1st pick, who would you guys go for?

That's a pretty fair assumption.

No way do the Bulls get first pick though. That's where this gets unrealistic. :)

Well I based the draft order on attendance figures :)

It'd be impossible for me to say this isn't homerism, but Derrick Rose.
"Just gotta stand in front of him," Butler said, as if it were simple.

Now you are talking.

Howard, Durant, or possibly Rose. I know you said one but I'd pare it down from there.

My reasoning being, I would want a franchise player to build around that isn't a complete and utter d-bag. And that won't try to run the franchise. So I'm not taking the best player.

I'd probably have to go with Howard?

That's an interesting question. If this is for building a franchise from scratch what happens to guys like Kobe and Dirk? Or is this just a one season deal? If we're starting from scratch though I'd give 10 in this order.

1. LBJ
2. Dwight
3. Rose
4. Durant
5. Griffin
6. Wall
7. Wade
8. CP3
9. D.Williams
10.Carmelo

It would be between Durant and Rose. Flip a coin and take the winner.

In the olden days of the NBA it would be kind of a given that you take the most dominant big, not sure that is the case any more.

An analyst was asked if the NBA was point guard driven today, and thought a moment and said, no, it's perimeter driven. As someone who hates Miami I actually don't like this. ;p

Other than taking BPA, in the past a team would never pick a perimeter player but in today's NBA those might be better choices, but being an old timer I'd probably still stick to Howard and then wish I had Durant or Rose. ;p :)

I agree, Durant or Rose, but I would have to go with Rose. Hometown kid, youngest MVP ever, etc.

I'll take Eric Gordon with our second round pick. :-D

Howard... By a pretty big margin.

Then probably Blake Griffin, then Durant, then Rose, the LeBron (behind Rose and KD due to his prickishness).

Because it would be so close between Rose, Durant, and Howard; I'd have to go with Rose. He's the hometown kid who the fans are already attached to. Howard would be my second choice, being a big, and then Durant. I also have to figure that a lot of perimeter players are going to go in the first round, since there is that emphasis on them now. So we'd have a shot at a pretty good big being at the top of the 2nd round. I'd probably be looking at some unproven sleeper there, like maybe Jan Vesely.

Durant. Then either Rose or Lebron.

No way I'd take Dwight first. He's great, but your first pick needs to be someone you can trust to win close games.

I'd take LeBron, despite all the douchebaggery and everything else, he is still the best player in the game, and young enough to build a dynasty around.

After that, I'd take in this order

Howard
Wade
Durant
Williams
Rose

You can't choose Rose first until you know what PGs are available in the 2nd round..lol Hell...Their would be some good pick ups still on the board..

So I'd be leaning heavily towards Dwight Howard....The C pool is shallow..

Because I think Rose is slightly overrated. He's still young and has time to get better, he's not a sure thing.

I think Deron Williams is the best PG in the NBA, when it comes to a balance of scoring and making his teammates better. It's close, but that's just my personal preference.
