The play-in tournament is the worst thing that could possibly happen to this franchise. Gives finishing 9th or 10th in the crappy East a sense of accomplishment and more reason to keep running it back.

If the Bulls do, you would be complaining to much to ever hear it.

NBA fan logic we need to trade one of two best players because (Player X) one needs to shine more.

Not yet. Play-in isn't the playoffs, the Bulls actually need to secure that 8th seed. Play-in doesn't count for playoff stats, Ws, etc..

It's contrived bull that only exists to create a couple more revenue opportunities. Not sure what individual play-in teams' owners get for qualifying, but it has to be more than zero dollars.
However, as a casual NBA fan this season, I'm paying closer attention to tonight's game than I did 1 through 82. I think that's the entire point of the NBA's marketing strategy, not to get guys like me back into watching 60+ games a season, but to highlight the spectacle of "hallmark" games, to garner viewership goals and ad revenue generation in one fell swoop rather than to produce a better product that people can consistently enjoy throughout the season.

Getting off topic and a point I've repeated ad nauseum yet feels worthwhile to mention again: Silver is ruining the NBA with these cash grabs. Clearly the league is feeling some economic pressure, it reached its peak some time around 2011 (not franchise valuation but in terms of viewership) and has been contracting since and thus Silver is presiding over a period of decline and is trying to re-invent the sport to keep his job. Silver is not very creative or particularly intelligent. He thinks he's presiding over an organization that needs its cash reserves to be pumped up so it can be sold a year from now. He doesn't seem to get that this "business" (public good administered by billionaires for no good reason, that generates a better return than any index fund) is supposed to last forever or otherwise until people stop enjoying sports (never gonna happen).

Short term profits makes sense for the owners but it doesn't make sense for the league and one would hope that the commissioner of the league could balance the desires of the people who selected him to do the job and the NEEDS of the sport! Stern managed to strike this balance and the NBA is 1000 times better for it.

Almost half-time and Philly/Miami is 37-48?
I'm so used to 130-140 scores in the reg season.

I'm rooting hard for the 76ers just because I know they'll beat the Hawks (they're ready for Cancun) and Philly will end this on Friday. Don't want another week of this.

If you guys don’t want your favorite team to win then what’s the point of following, watching the games or even commenting on a bulls board ? Might as well do something else with your lives.

Its a tough spot to be in. I’m telling myself that at the very least Coby and Ayo will get important playoff-ish minutes. But a loss to help our draft spot isn’t the worst outcome either.

If it doesn’t end tonight, it certainly will on Friday vs Philly or Miami

Ayo returns to the starting lineup without minute restrictions. Drummond also available.

Irrationally angry at the decision to wear the black jerseys for a home play-in game

Who knows how this game ends up but we match up very well with Atlanta. They don’t have the strengths to exploit our weaknesses.

Vucevic wrestles a rebound from his own team and in doing so walks out of bounds. Good stuff

I haven't watched an espn nba game this season so maybe I'm just adjusting but this broadcast team really makes ya feel the budget cuts. I'm sure we got the D team as well being the by far worst 2 teams in this thing.
