If we did sign him, it's just to have a extra shooter deep on the bench.

James Anderson has never been a rotation player in his career. Cook has.
I still take my chance with James Anderson over Cook anyways.
Yeah, the reason why I might roll the dice on Anderson is that at least he has some potential upside. With Cook you probably know pretty much what you're getting, and it's not very good. Although our FO seems to prefer guys who have some experience under their belts.

I was impressed by Mozgov - more athleticism, size, and upside. Would prefer him to Cole A.

The numbers don't reveal how awesome of a backup center Mozgov could be. I wonder if Rip would be enough to satisfy the Nuggets. Just seems like the Nuggets could get a little bit more for him.
I think you'd at least have to add a 1st round pick to get him.

I would love Mozgov. He can be a long term reliable reserve behind Noah.

This one is a first to me. I haven't heard anything about Daequan Cook and the Bulls but it makes some sense. The Phoenix Suns and the Jazz I've heard got some interest on Hamilton maybe a deal might be coming around soon.

Re: Bulls Signing Daequan Cook?
He’d make sense as a deep reserve for a team dead last in the NBA in 3 pointers made.
Cook is more of a known product vs Anderson, although he isn’t elite at what he does. He’s shot 1170 vs Anderon’s 120, and at 37% over his career. But for a waiver pickup, hard to complain. It’s not like we’re trading assets for him.

Daequan Cook scheduled to clear waivers at 5 PM ET. If he's not claimed, I'm told, Bulls firmly in lead to sign 3-point specialist

Was just about to get on here and post he's scheduled to be on a plane here Sunday morning. Trying to get more info on the contract terms.

Rip WOULD (key word) be good for a playoff run...but do you honestly think he'd make it through three rounds of playoff basketball, i certainly don't. I don't know about Cook though, he's pretty meh IMO.

Re: Bulls Signing Daequan Cook?
I don't think it would make too much sense signing a shooter if they weren't going to give him playing time. If that's the case, I hope they don't get screwed in the Rip trade, but honestly I don't expect anything good in return. It seems to me they simply want to avoid the tax. I hope I'm wrong.

Re: Bulls Signing Daequan Cook?
For the record, this could mean the end of Radmanovic too if the Bulls throw a little money with him to cover the expenses.

Agreed, so far I see nothing but us trying to be cheap, and getting Worse in the process.

Completely unlikely unless the Bulls get a big back...

Why? The Bulls aren't playing Radmanovic at all and in a game where they didn't have their starting C, he couldn't crack the lineup. He has played less than one minute all season in a non-blowout fashion.
The point is that you can add Cook and eliminate Radmanovic and it would be cost neutral to the tax. The Bulls would only owe the money left to Radmanovic, which would be sub 500K at this point.
