LeBron To Chicago Re-Vote.

Post#1 » by DuckIII » Fri Jun 25, 2010 3:07 pm

Its Twelve Angry Men time. The trade of Kirk Hinrich was like Henry Fonda revealing that the switchblade murder weapon wasn't unique after all.

Time for a re-vote.

I finally voted yes.

I can't vote yes. I am a Cubs fan and used to failure. My defense mechanism is pessimism. I will probably vote anything but "yes" until I see him in his 5th game in a Bulls uniform.

I'm just a simple Unfrozen Caveman Lawyer Midwesterner. I don't know about this Lebron James and the game of basketball.

Chicago is surging in the eyes of those willing to throw down cash on it. We've gone from long shot, to underdog with a reasonable shot to favorite.

I'm voting yes after looking at the Intrade odds... not because of how Chicago's odds are perceived, but because of how Miami's odds are perceived, and I would have thought they were the most serious contenders at this point. While they jumped up to 17%, insiders must know something we don't that is holding them back. They are still fourth behind Cleveland and New York.

As a Bulls fan, I'm always a "hope for the best but expect the worst" type of guy who would have voted "no." But being objective here... it looks like there is something a-brewin' with this LeBron to Chicago thing.

Just to make Rerisen's head explode... wouldn't it be crazy if through back-channels LeBron has voiced that he'd prefer to play with Joe Johnson over Chris Bosh and that's where all of the JJ to Chicago smoke signals are coming from? ***Just flippin' with ya Rerisen*** :)

Yeah, i've been one of the No's for these polls....just couldn't bring myself to believe it. But damn this smoke is getting heavier and heavier. I was told early on that Chicago was simply getting their turn atop MT. LBJ hype, but it's stayed consistent. I was going to vote that I needed my mind made up for me, seeing as i'm a gullible, Midwestern, dupe. Then I read your post and realized my that I need not be lead by anyone else. Thank you Duck for telling this Midwesterner where to lean :)

I'm a Cubs fan also until Lebron sign with the Bulls I'm not getting my hopes up.

I see it this way.

- Good coach
- Great chemistry
- Room for 2 max free agents
- Play with a team that could make the playoffs without any additions (Rose/Noah/Deng/Gibson)
- Play on a team with 8 guys under 26 (assuming Bosh comes)
- Dynasty for 10 years
- Major market
- 2nd biggest downtown area in the US

It will be interesting if we do get Lebron because if Lebron can keep everyone together, the Bulls literally could contend for the next decade and when people compare Jordan to Lebron, they will compare them likely as equals, both kings of the game.

Basically, I can't see why Lebron wouldn't come to Chicago right now. We'd have a team next year with defense and the following scoring is my belief

Lebron - 28
Rose - 18/10
Bosh - 17/10
Noah - 7/15
Deng - 12/7

I was only able to finally vote yes because a northeastern "coaster" like Ric Bucher told me that Hinrich had been traded.

I think the Bulls have a fighter's chance. But if they miss on Lebron, Then I fear they get nothing. But if the sign Lebron, They get a 2nd FA because of Lebron's signing. But its kinda all or nothing now. Dont tell me about Boozer or Joe Johnson please.
