1st half report

Rip still searching
Lucas still Lucasing
Deng still playing (big minutes)
Melo still torturing

The Knicks just play tough, and the Bulls have a hard time getting ahold of this team. And they keep turning the ball over. Boozer needs to get more involved. But this time around, so are the Knicks turning the ball over, and they aren't hitting open shots, or getting as open. As long as the Bulls keep hammering these teams on the glass like they have done in the first half +12, they will continue to win most games with or without Rose.

Good game by Rip and Korver. Excellent third quarter by Rip; he looked like the Detroit Rip out there tonight. Korver played a great all around game; He has improved a lot defensively. Rose didn't look to be moving well during pregame the warm up... :roll:

The Bulls got to back to their fundamentals. Defense, rebounding, and working inside out offense. Rip Hamilton carried the team in the 3rd quarter and it seemed to give the team a big feeling of relief.

Some really good signs for Rip were getting to the line, and also driving the ball off the dribble. We need a full offensive game from him to be effective, not just 2 point long jumpers. And he can’t be scared to take the open three.

I thought Ronnie came in with some good energy, defense and some crafty buckets in his minutes.

How about Kyle Korver possessed by the spirit of Scottie Pippen on defense? You witnessed a once in a lifetime event.

Carlos Boozer must play better in big games. Lot’s of dumb fouls and was attacked on defense successfully numerous times.

As for NY, Melo doesn’t have a season best type game and suddenly they look very pedestrian vs us. Ho-hum. They have no legit PG and ugly offense.

Their small lineup will grant them some matchup advantages, but most nights its going to be a loser to our rebounding. We destroyed them on the boards, 51 to 33. Off Rebs, 18 to 5.

Thibs really loves Lucas, I think he risked a bit playing him so long. 2-10, the magic is gone. But hopefully Derrick will be back on Thursday and not miss any more games, so we don’t have to worry about Johnny.

Deng played his usual high hustle game, especially in the 1st half. Great defense on Melo, who is not going to hit all that contested BS most games. He still played a decent game but that won’t cut it to beat the top seed in the East.

Great 1st half by Deng, 3rd qtr by Rip and Noah and 4th by Deng and Korver.

With Heat loss, this gives us good enough cushion. Although we still need to win 1 of the next 2 vs Heat.

Rip turned back the clock tonight in the 3rd. He provided a glimmer of hope there. When he's given the time, there's no doubt in my mind that he can produce.
