Playoffs Round 1: Bulls vs. Nets - Series thread

Post#1 » by whonka » Thu Apr 18, 2013 5:14 am

I wanted to start talking about this series since the game ended, but nobody has made a thread for a few hours, so I thought I'd start with the series thread. (someone else with more time can make the game thread)

Who you got? I'll take the Bulls in 6. If Noah can't give 20 good minutes a game, then Nets in 6-7. If Rose comes back, then Bulls in 4.

I voted Bulls in 6, but now that I think about it Brook Lopez will wreak havoc on our defense, and DWill has been playing better lately.. We might actually lose.

I'm really unsure. The bulls fan in me wants to say Bulls in 6......but the objective basketball fan in me can't ignore how the Nets have improved over this second half of the season, and how DWill is playing better. Not to mention, we really have not star player to take over at will :(

Don't know how much Nate's gonna be able to play this series, particularly down the stretch of games with Deron and Joe Johnson in their backcourt. Who can he defend? Kirk of course can slide over and defend Johnson, but Nate on Deron :( We'll see I guess.

Keith Bogans when he is out there, or CJ Watson when he is on the court but if Deron or Joe is out there then keep Butler or Kirk on the floor for a bit with Nate, and just hope for the best.

Have us winning in 6, as long as Taj and Noah can play meaningful 20-30 minutes.
KC: Do you still think you're a championship-caliber team?
Gar: I never said that and correct me if I'm wrong.
KC: You were asked that question at the news conference announcing Thibodeau's dismissal and you answered yes

All I want is for Joakim to be healthy during the series.

It should be a great test for Bulls bigs. Will C-Booz finally step up in the postseason cause if he doesn't it'll be extremely tough.

We weren't as good a rebounding team as the past couple years but still decent enough.

I see an early key being to limit Reggie Evans on the glass. O-boards leads to wide open threes and they got some knockdown spot-up guys (Williams, Johnson, Bogans, Watson).

Controlling the glass is key. Which goes to many of you guys'saying if Noah can give the minutes, we should be fine.

EASY WIN! BULLS IN 2!!!
Kris Bryant will go down as the greatest Chicago athlete after MJ

edit 7/30/21: okay maybe not, but it was a fun ride nonetheless

Key to the series: Hold Bogans to less than 6 points every game
