Appreciated your time here Rip. A shame we never got to see that Rose+Rip backcourt take out Miami, would have loved that.

Hopefully a contender will pick you up and you'll get another ring. Just don't join the god damn Heat.

I can really appreciate when guys stay professional when they are not getting playing time they deserve. He was a good teammate. Good luck to him at his next stop.

RIP showed tonight why he was brought to the Bulls. It was a logical plan. But he's also showed why he won't be brought back. He can't stay healthy and he can't defend.

I think Jimmy's emergence eventually led to RIP seeing the pine. If Jimmy doesn't break out I think Rip still see's consistent rotation minutes.

Not sure what there was to appreciate over all. Thanks for the help in keeping it close in game 5? ALso thanks for being a pro about your situation?

It's too bad Rip never got on track. In the current NBA, if you're not a three point shooter as a guard...you need so much in the other areas (and all this was only provided by young Rip-- not old)

There were whispers last year that the team was kind of put off by him in the locker room. He seemed to really get along with Nate this year. Didn't pout when this thing happened to him at the end of the year. Can't blame Thibs as a Daequan Cook three point blitz would've been that chaotic weird thing to help us steal a game. Unfortunately Cook couldn't stay in bounds..much less shoot right.

Rip showed glimpses of being exactly the guy we needed to pair with Rose. It's too bad neither of them could stay healthy and we never got a chance to see how it would have worked out.

Really had high hopes for him last year, he looked great with Rose. Unfortunately he just isnt fast enough to lose people any more and he's always injured.

Wait, what? We're not even going to TRY to trade him plus a million bucks and maybe a 2nd rounder so that some other team (with capspace) can cut him? That buyout is going to cost $2 million with LT...

He was brought here to get us over the hump last year against Miami, but we never saw that come together after Rose tore his knee in the first game of the playoffs. I wasn't a big fan of the signing when it happened, because of the history of injuries, and I think that was validated after the 2 seasons he played here. Now they're going to pay for making the same mistake with Hinrich. I pray they don't need a 3rd wake up call.

Fun fact:

RIP Hamilton hit 38 three point shots in 88 games as a Bull over two years.

And he played in 88 out of a possible 166 games.

He committed 169 personal fouls and 146 turnovers.

He blocked 6 shots.

I hate to see his $1M buyout count against the cap/luxury tax and not get anything out of it.

Couldn't we just trade his contract plus $1.5M cash to a team under the cap? The team that gets him basically gets $500k in free money.

They can just send us a 'conditional' 2nd rounder that we'll never see. As a bonus we probably get another $5M trade exception.

Or use his contract as filler in either a Boozer or Deng trade.

"Even though the last two weeks have been hard, my teammates have been great," Hamilton said. "They were so supportive of me and dumbfounded by the situation. They kept me going."

I wonder if this is true, and I doubt it was. For the most part, it's pretty obvious why Hamilton fell out of the rotation.
