You have to get the rebound because you have to control tempo. As you're seeing, if you let the CPU run, might as well just give them the bucket cause they will either make the shot, get to the line, or worst, both.

When sticking man to man defense (and I learned the hard way), keep that finger OFF the left trigger/R2 when defending a man. Only use it when getting post up because although it will make your D tighter, you will become significantly slower and someone with a good quick step will murder you every time. When you're defending a fast player, you might actually want to use some turbo when defending.

The key though is to be very conservative on the analog. Don't actually go left or right until you know the opponent is going left or right. Just stay still, especially when playing online because a lot of dudes are trying to shake you, so stay neutral and a lot of their crossovers will get canceled with good defense.

Also, DO NOT JUMP when trying to defend a jumpshot, stay on the ground and use the right analog to put hands up, keep those feet on the ground though at all times unless you have a decent height advantage or its a shot in the paint.

First time EVER I play an NBA 2K series game. Not a big fan of basketball games since the days of the old game systems in which it was actually simple/easy (LOL).

I started a career creating myself (started as a PG), its quite tough. Any tips for a noob to enjoy the game and make the most out of it?

Do not put it on HOF until you get stronger r understand the game more because the computer will go into GOD mode.

If you are a PG put up your playmaking skill because it will help you throw better pass. If you don't have that skill up your guy will do things like take a simple overhead pass and overthrow it. For offense figure out if you want to be a derrick rose like point guard or a shooting pg from there you know what offensive skills to put up.

Don't always be quick to tap the steal or block button. If you really want steal put up your defense so you can pick passing lanes. For blocking unless you are right on them to avoid a foul hold your right stick up so your guy just puts his hand up. You can avoid a foul and possibly get a block out of it.

I think I'm going to name my "My Player": Derrick ROOSEVELT Holmes.

Truth is: I almost named my son that 3 years ago and was overruled by the wife.

So I settled for Jr.

I have not tried MyPlayer yet. Are the losing character issues worked out?

I did start a My League. Traded Butler for Klay Thompson by cheating and forcing it. Man is my team brilliant.

This game is totally different from 2k14. In 2k14 Online head-to-head i used to feel like i was always in control of my team, thus the game versus almost any opponent, so far through 50+ games I cant say the same for this 2k15. I thought by now I would master it but Im still learning how to time my shots better and how to do my fullcourt defenses which was very effective in 2k14 but now its swiss cheese in 2k15 lol

I also find it funny how many people talk crap, foul language and everything, how do you turn that off? Sometimes Im worried my 6 year daughter might listen lol

Myteam has taken almost all my time on this game. Some of the challenges are incredibly fun.

My squad has gotten pretty good at this point. Helps that I scored a duplicate Paul George that sold. Have a duplicate John Wall in auction now as well.

Wall, PG13, Melo, Noah, Cousins.
Tom Chambers, Bosh, M. Gasol, rookie KD, Hinrich off the bench. Hit me up on Xbox One if you want a run, Un Ab Alto

I got this game the day it came out and I'm still horrible at it, especially when it comes to defense, rebounding, and fast breaks.

Join the club. I have had the game since it came out, and am horrible. The offense regularly gets 10 or so offensive boards a quarter against me, sometimes 3-4 in one possession. And this is despite me: having a great rebounding team, changing the coaching preferences to "crash the boards," and staying on my feet instead of jumping for blocks. Defense is even more pathetic, I focus on staying on the ground, cutting off penetration, and using a strong post defender to rotate off of their worst frontcourt player. Nevertheless, I give up dozens of uncontested dunks and layups a game, and the computer usually uses whoever I am guarding to wreck havoc. I am actually pretty good at fast breaks, it is one of the few ways I can score.

The most frustrating thing to me, is when I call plays that are CLEARLY designed to get three point looks, and McDermott or Mirotic or Dunleavy stand right on the line, or even worse a step in. These are professional specialists and that would never happen and it makes me loathe the programmers of this game. By the time I step back to get my feet right they either get covered or step out of bounds.

All in all, this game is beautiful and deep. I wish they would scrap the international teams and put in more classic teams. I'm certain they have trouble acquiring the necessary licenses but: Barkley's Suns team, Reggie's MSG Knick killers, Webber's Kings, and the Vince/Tmac Raps absolutely need to be in there.

I haven't had the chance to get into this game much because of work, but from what I have played, everything seems kinda "meh" to me. It's starting to feel like Madden, in terms of the laziness to constantly innovate due to the lack of competition.

Don't get me wrong, the game is good-- I just don't like how some of the same issues we've seen in past games are still in this year's game, particularly with the passing. Holy god it sucks. I feel like I'm throwing around a beach ball instead of a basketball with the way they just hang in the air. The logic behind the animations are also still bad. There are too many deflections. Makes it hard to run the PnR..

The rebounding is better, and I really like some of the new layup animations when you are congested in the paint. They have DRose's circus shot down pat.

IMO, they are putting too much focus on online play and My Career mode instead of focusing on the gameplay itself. As somebody who never plays online and never touches anything on My Career, it's extremely frustrating.

Everything seems slow right? I'm glad 2K didn't include the SSOL Suns in this game because good lord would that be **** awful. Passing needs to be improved, tempo needs to be improved, LOADING TIMES need to be improved.....and yet today Ronnie 2K announced that a patch is on the way, dedicated for MyPark fixes only. What a joke.

Rose just returned to my starting lineup, and I played my best game. It was against the Bucks, but Rose had 29 point and 11 assists, taking 13 shots and only missing 1. In every game prior to this one Gasol had been my player of the game, but Rose missing may have been a blessing in disguise.

The key is to not force anything, and play conservatively on offense and defense.

After about 65 online head-to-head games, still cant say I can play the way I can in 2k14. I'm starting to win more games now using the Wolves, Bucks and Suns though, but haven't had as much fun playing as I did with 2k14. Easy to defend one on one but I find it still much harder to cover passing lanes. I used to win a lot of games by forcing 20+ turnovers a game and in 2k14 but now I only can force 5-7 a game. Still tinkering around trying to create a new system thats fun and good against any type of style

I'll hit you up soon. I'm jtamay3. Not great yet as I dont have the shot timing down yet, but I feel my defense is good enough.
