I don't see a scenario where Boozer and Mirotic are both here, so as long as Nikolai is able to come over, I think Boozer's gone one way or another.

Mirotic gives you a nucleus like this

Noah, Taj, Mirotic
Jimmy
Derrick

that's 5 players. I'm comfortable throwing one of Dunleavy or Snell in that rotation to give you a wing shooter:

Noah, Taj, Mirotic
Jimmy (Mike D/Snell)
Derrick

Just looking at that roster, a vet who can shoot and/or run a pick and roll would be my next option. Sergio Rodriguez might be one way to go if his Real Madrid obligations are up (I have no idea if that's the case). Young vets like Lance Stephenson & Jordan Crawford might also be options here.

He has really blossomed. I've always gotten the sense that he will stay in Indiana, but stealing him would weaken their team.

Could we get around it if we traded for Hayward at the deadline? Just asking hypothetically...

Yes, we could sign Nikola with the MLE and sign Hayward with bird rights (assuming the Bulls amnesty Boozer) but then of course the issue of trading for Hayward happens.

Stephenson is on he arc of JR Smith in my opinion. The overall stats look good but so many times he makes some ridiculously bad plays.

This year his overall great play has sort of dimmed his dufus ones much in the same way JR's was more forgivable last year.

Cr@p, the cap rules are BS and punish under the cap teams by counting "exceptions" to the cap against the cap, unless renounced. Which means likely that Nikola might wait one more year, if the right player (who would take up most of the cap space) is available.

Maybe I'm in the minority

But screw miritoc

Let him sit another year, why is it all this hassle on a unproven euro? We can't hold the franchise going back and forth with Barcelona on this contract. Hell does he even want to come?

My plan would be amnesty boozer clear the cap space and go after Evan turner and Ben Gordon
Pair them with our draft picks

If we strike out on a top 4 pick we take the 5th- whatever pick package that with kings pick bobcat pick Cleveland pick rights to miritoc possibly taj or boozer expiring and go strong after Kevin love on draft night

Rose
Turner
Butler
Love
Noah

Mirotic is only unproven if you ignore every game he's ever played in.

I do worry about his athleticism in the league tho.
Step 1: instead of "ass" say "buns." Like "kiss my buns" or "you're a buns-hole."

How good do you think he'll be? Comparable to any other NBA player?

For next season
already signed : Rose 18.8M, Noah 13.1M, Gibson 8M, Dunleavy 3M, Butler 2.1M , Snell 1.4M, Teague 1.1M
Boozer AMNESTIED.. So we have 7 players for 47,5M, Salary cap projection to be 62M, Luxury cap treshold limit will be probably around 74M.. soo we will have 26-27M to spend and we dont pay extra tax money..
Mirotic 5M per season right? re-sign Augustin and Hinrich for 2M per season both.. three draft picks 2 in 1st round 12-18 and one 2nd rounder 4M approx. Trade or waive Teague..

Rose / Augustin / Hinrich
G.Harris DP? / Snell / Butler
Butler / Dunleavy
Mirotic / Gibson / A.Gordon DP?
Noah / M.McGary DP?
this is lineup for approx. 60M ,soo there is room for another really good FA for 11-12M per season signing..

Every player ever drafted in the NBA could say the same thing about playing some sort of organized basketball, it doesn't make them a proven NBA player.

Get excited, ladies.

Is this possible?

Sign Hayward with the 13mil and change.

Then use the MLE for Nikola?

I would like to sign Gordon Hayward and Nikolas Mirotic. If were able to get a high enough pick to draft Marcus Smart, that would be an excellent off-season. Not sure if how realistic it is. Hayward is going to command good money and we'd need a top-4 pick to nab Smart.

Should a star eg. Carmelo wants to opt out for Chicago, Boozer's expiring can still be useful to match salaries in trades. Maybe we'll have to throw in some picks as incentives, find a 3rd or 4th team or something. We then get to use the full MLE for Mirotic (hope he accepts) if it doesn't bring us over the LT line. That said, we can still afford to survey the FA market a little before the amnesty deadline, it's best the Bulls don't be in a hurry to make decisions.
