Who Do We Want in the 1st Round?
There's been a lot of talk about who we want in the second round, but almost none about the first. It's too early to get ahead of ourselves.
Currently we have the 4th seed and if the season ended today we'd be playing the Wizards. I think most of us believe that we have a good shot at the 3rd seed.
Out of the following teams, which would you want to see the Bulls face:
Toronto Raptors (current record 33-26, 3rd seed)
Washington Wizards (31-28, 5th seed)
Brooklyn Nets (28-29, 6th seed)
Charlotte Bobcats (27-32, 7th seed)
Atlanta Hawks (26-32, 8th seed)
Personally, I'd like to avoid the Wizards. They have some young and explosive talent. Ideally, we're playing the Raptors or Bobcats. Both are incredibly inexperienced and have limited offensive talent.

Re: Who Do We Want in the 1st Round?
I don't like the Wizards right now. I think we can beat anyone but they would be the biggest threat.
They have real good balance, size inside, speed and athleticism, good blend of shooting and driving.
Not the most discipline or executing team, but if they put those things together they can be dangerous.
Nets are probably next dangerous because of their experience and depth. Lot of guys that could turn it on for a series or would be helped by the amount of rest you get in the playoffs.
Everyone else, meh, little preference.
If we get 3rd locked up we should have the best path we can realistically get.

Re: Who Do We Want in the 1st Round?
I would agree with you. Definitely no Wizards. John Wall would give us a lot of problems, not to mention Beal. Despite their record, we know the Nets have some talent so that could just be annoying.
To be honest I think all of us on this board very well that the Bobcats are not very good. We should just sweep them and be done with it.

Re: Who Do We Want in the 1st Round?
I guess I'll go with the Nets, but only because I think the Bobcats and Raptors aren't realistic options at this point. I'd say there's a slight chance the Bulls get the Bobcats in round 1, but then you're saying the Bulls get the 3rd seed (very doable), and the Bobcats pass the Nets in the standings (not seeing that happening). The Raptors in the first round isn't happening unless they somehow hand the Atlantic to the Nets on a platter AND drop below the Bobcats in the standings.

Brooklyn is playing really well, but they are a weak rebounding team. That bode well for us. They do have talent though, but really old talent.

I agree with the thinking of avoiding Washington, outside of that I really don't care. Although Toronto does concern me for a minor reason...Tyler Hansbrough. The guy is an out of control goon and I worry about getting through a series against them without someone getting hurt or taking a swing at him. Our last game against them he was trying to mix it up with Dunleavy (I think) and I remember a couple years ago he and Foster were taking non-stop cheap shots against our guys when he played for Indiana. Would just rather avoid him not because I'm worried that his skill will cause us problems but because he seems to ramp up the only marketable skill he has come playoff time and that is being overtly and obnoxiously physical.

Agree wholeheartedly. I live in GA and I can sit 8 rows off the floor for less than $100. Try doing that in the UC for the playoffs.
Watched Rose set his playoff career high a couple years ago and bought the tickets 3 hours before tip 8 rows off the floor.

Brooklyns got a lot of talent, and experience with Pierce and KG. I'd hate to face them. Along with Washington. Unfortunately, its probably gonna be one of them. I'm convinced this teams gonna win at least one round though.

Re: Who Do We Want in the 1st Round?
The the Wiz would be a challenge, and the Raps would put up a really good fight too imo.
Next scariest would be the Nets, just because they have a lot of talent and experience, but I doubt they'd give us much trouble.
Atlanta, or the Bobcats, would be my preference. Both teams are fringe playoff squads with little experience, and they just don't have the talent to win a 7 game series. I would prefer Atlanta because I think they're very undermanned without Horford, they've lost 9 of their last 10, and they just don't have a very scary roster whatsoever.

bobcats or hawks would be ideal. i would probably want to play the nets the least because several players on that team have a switch when it comes to the playoffs. 2nd team i wouldnt want to play is the wizards because of the talent they have on their team, but the raptors are very close to them imo. not really afraid of any of these teams though

On the reals though, I'd hate to face the Cavs. Too soon. And weird. Imagine they beat us and Luol's teammates pull a Horace, raising him up and cheering him like some goddamn good-bad 80's movie.

no preference really. Just roll it out and lets get it on. If we are worried about getting out of the first round then **** IT.

This!! There shouldn't be any worries. The Nets are playing well and maybe a slightly tougher opponent but they will be favored mostly due to their pre-season hype than actual play. Washington will be happy to be there in the playoffs and win a game or two to seem like they are serious. It actually depends only if the Bulls are healthy or not.

1. Charlotte
2. Atlanta
3. Brooklyn
4. Washington
5. Brooklyn
Brooklyn and Washibgton are interchangeable. The Wizards are playing ok now, but they have limited playoff experience, much like Toronto. Brooklyn is old, but they know what to do come the pointy end of the season.
Honestly, I think we finish 4th and the Nets end up 5th.
Toronto vs Washington whilst Indy and Miami murder Charlotte/Atlanta/Cleveland
