Ah, that's sad. He was probably the purest of point guard in a generation where he was surrounded by ball dominate, one one player playing scoring point guard. In recent years, the league has brought in a new wave of point guards with a more balanced skill set, but when he was at this prime, he was a dying breed of point guard who dominated with smarts and savvy.
That said, it's probably best that he retires, right now we're in the golden area of point guards, and even if he were to play he simply wouldn't be able to cut it on a night to night basis anyway. He has already had a fantastic career, time for him to hang it up.
IMO Nash is right there on level with Magic as far as passing. You always knew he was going to pass, but there was no way to stop it from happening. He threw fancy passes that were just regular for him and they were ALWAYS on the mark.
