Also, I think GS will be asking for one of Snell or McDermott in return.

Ames High bros Barnes and McDermott would be a welcoming gift for Fred. I always wanted Harrison, hope he is able to join the roster sometime soon.

That would be a dream for Hoiberg to coach McDermott & Barnes.

Exactly. No!

Jimmy 38//Snell 10
Snell 22//Doug 26

Where does Barnes fit there? Where does Barnes contract fit? How will Barnes increase his scoring next to Rose, Jimmy, and Gasol?

IMO Barnes is a poor fit as a 3/4 where Snell is the perfect 2/3 MDJ w D floor spacer 3D player. Doug is our instant offense from the bench.

Taj goes for a backup PG. Our pick gets us our 4th big/backup C.

Barnes is going to want $9M+ a year after next season. He's gonna ask for as much as Niko, Doug and Snell make combined.

Are we really making hypothetical trades that suit our hypothetical replacement rookie coach?

:-?

Eh. Taj and a first? For a backup (albeit a good one)? Teletovic is largely redundant with Mirotic in the fold, as well.

Jack is probably the best back up pg in the league getting him and teletovic adds over all depth. And someone that can realistically run the team when Rose is out

I wouldn't give up a 1st but I suggested Jack in another thread. I'd ask for a 1st...

With Snell, Butler and Doug. We have enough guys at the 2/3 position. We could really use a combo guard. Jack is that. He can play the PG/SG spits but if Derrick went out, handle the show

Another player I like in FA is Mo Williams.

Can be the back-up PG and play with Derrick.

This is two offseasons down the line, but it seems to me that we could be in the position to make a large offer for Hassan Whiteside. I'm assuming Taj is moved.

Key is that I don't think the Heat will have full Bird's rights. Meanwhile, Noah expires right as Whiteside hits FA.

(Rose)
Butler
Snell/McDermott
Niko
Whiteside

Even independent of Rose, that is a very strong core going forward.

Bulls would have a lot of competition for Whiteside thats for sure, the guy is an animal. Great pick up for the Heat

We should draft a true backup for Noah this year.. maybe trade pick and Taj for higher pick,to get Towns or Stein.

There is nothing you can trade to get Towns or Stein. That's fantasy land.

I believe he'll be subject to the Gilbert Arenas rule, but I'm not sure. Heat will have early Bird rights.

Mo Williams would be great on a 2-year deal.

Don't think he'll be subject to the Arenas rule because I believe he's not restricted (not totally clear on those rules in the CBA).

Early Birds offer for the Heat will max out at 110% of the average player salary i.e. not enough to retain Whiteside.

I think every player under 3 years in the league is subject to the Gilbert Arenas rule, so the Heat will have matching rights if I understand this correctly.

He will have 4 years when his contract expires. Looked at a few other sources and pretty confident Whiteside will be a UFA in 2016.

Isn't he in his 3rd year in the league (2 years with the Kings 2010-2012) ?
