OT (sort of): NBA 2K16 trailer

*Hey mods, not sure if you want to lock this. Since it's the off-season, I figured I could start a new thread about it.

You get a good look at how Drose and Jimmy Buckets will look in the game.

The mouthguard thing is a cool touch. 2K as usual, always delivering the goods. Top sports video game franchise after FIFA for probably a decade now.
Kris Bryant will go down as the greatest Chicago athlete after MJ

edit 7/30/21: okay maybe not, but it was a fun ride nonetheless

They focused a lot on the My Player feature this year. I am not a fan of it but I guess it is their signature feature.

Yeah I'm looking forward to it. Always enjoy the little touches like the mouthguards, court lights, facial expressions, etc.

2K15 was the first one I bought since 2K12 and the difference is awesome, it really plays great. I sunk a lot of hours into MyPlayer, the franchise mode MyGM, and most of all, MyTeam, then eventually burnt out. The most important things they need to fix is the cheese issues that ruin online, not to mention the servers.

With MyPlayer they've got Spike Lee directing the storyline and it's going to go through college and everything, which is really cool.

Live 16 looks good for the first time in years as well.

2k16 is going to be DOPE. I'm excited for the new MyCareer features. It's pretty cool how they implemented colleges into the game. I wonder how that'll fit in with the franchise mode? It'd be nice if you could see how well some of the incoming prospects are doing in college. Like game by game box scores and such.

It's the little things that count.

I used to play NBA video game, both the 2K and Live series. I think the last series I played was the 2003 release for both 2K and Live. Stopped playing because there just wasn't enough time to play, and not interested in spending for upgrading game console.

But, I've played the newer releases at family gathering. I thought the gameplay have evolved tremendously, and the graphics. It's just that, the game becomes so realistic that I thought it becomes very difficult and the controller becomes very complex. It takes sometime to get used to and 'practice'. Yes, I need to practice before I can truly enjoy the game. This is not necessarily a bad thing, because complexity is expected with realistic gameplay. But this does influence why I'm not interested to start getting into video games anymore.

It can be frustrating when you're trying to do something and it does something else, and turns out you need to do it this way with the controller for a more precise pass to a certain player for example. Hah... maybe I'm just starting to develop into one of them old man that always complain.

Im very excited about the changes that they have made to my career. I am hopeful that you can stay in college for more than one season and really build your player up before he turns pro. In previous years, it was next to impossible to get drafted number 1, and a decent player as a rookie.

The other thing I believe they may have changed is the salary. When my player came out in 2k11, your player was paid like a normal NBA player....the only real downside is that you couldn't do much with the money, and there was no Max contracts. My guy was like back to back MVP with several championships, and when I got to the offseason I was offered like 7m a season.

In 2k12-2k15 they changed over and used VC as your salary. Personally I think that was super lame.

At the very least they should have a realistic salary and something that shows your carreer earnings.

AB getting hungry for that 2K rating.. if he was a 75 IRL I'd be ecstatic about our PG rotation.

I'm digging that font change on our court. :D

We finally made the centercourt Bulls logo bigger, with no basketball behind it! It's a new era!

Feels good to have a coach not standing on the sidelines 24-7.

There should be more camera people sitting on the baselines of every game. That part of the court is packed with camera people all the time and in the game they only have like 2 people. With the new generation it wouldn't be that hard to add more men.

The sim league I've been apart of since NBA 2K9 is ready to roll once again with the release of 2K16 on the Playstation 4 system. It's a sim league, rules aren't too complicated and focus on fair play/no abusing exploits/blatant cheese and most importantly a realistic experience. We usually run a 24-30 man league...right now we are looking for members that will help get us up to a full 30 teams and make the experience that much better.

If you'd like more info head over to our website to check us out. You can PM me for more details or hit up the creator of the league on Twitter right on the site. We also have a groupme which is where most of the communication for the league goes down.

Here's the website:

You can add me on PSN at MAQ25060

I never really checked, but is Spike Lee in the game? As in on the sidelines of the Knicks? If that's true that would be cool. I could imagine a relive the moment option of Spike Lee getting into it with Reggie Miller for the 8pts in 9 seconds. And even Pippens Dunk over Ewing with Pippen telling Spike to sit his @ss down lol

I spent so much time playing 2K11 and getting better at it, loved that game. Then I bought 2K12 and it felt like a completely different game with the new controls, I hated it. For some insane reason, I went on to buy 2K13 and played all of a few hours with it, still didn't want to relearn the new controls. If that's crazy, then why did I buy 2K15 on release day and only play an hour of it total. I'll have to remind myself not to get 2K16. Maybe I buy them because I'm dying for a basketball fix during the off season.

Not to trash it though as the 2K series are incredible simulators, unbelievable even. Though after 2K11, all the games seem the same.

It takes me forever to learn everything though, so many settings, plays, and moves, isos, etc... So much **** you can do with a single controller. Honestly, I get overwhelmed by it all. Other than that, I enjoyed playing other people the most, sadly none of the games were any good at matchmaking.
