So much youth, talent, and athleticism in this Rising Stars game... and none belonged to the Bulls. :noway:

We could have drafted Zach LaVine instead of Doug

and LaVine has 30 pts 7 rebounds as the Rising Stars MVP

We could always say that hind sight is 20/20 but what kills me in this scenario is that we had a deep draft and 2 1st round picks in a year where many of the people selected outside of the lottery could just as easily been in it had it they come out of school in a different year.

What also adds to the sting is that we didn't need a superstar, we just needed a serviceable wing. Someone like Lavine would have been ideal because he is an athletic combo guard but again I'm not asking for perfection in the draft process just smart decision making. Lavine and Hood were both available after McDermott was selected, as was a Nurkic at the center position. As we can see now, even if we ended up with a serviceable starter such as Harris or Hairston we would have been better of than the McDermott pick.

P.S.

There are guys I've yet to mention because they aren't playing right now due to the depth of their teams at the wing position but I still like Young (Celtics) and Adams (Memphis).

If Jimmy didn't care, I would be far more worried.

The only people speaking out about this is Taj and Jimmy.

Why so serious?

Have to admit this is the best dunk contest in many years. Solid stuff. No gimmicks. Gordon is amazing.

Really like that they toned down the gimmick crap and are doing some new things never seen before. These guys put a lot of effort into this contest.

That was incredible, Lavine vs. Gordon may have just been better than Jordan vs. Nique.

No need to be Zach Lavine. I would've been happy with Rodney Hood and Mitch McGary.

Hood would've been our clear cut starting 3 over Snell this year. And McGary over Bairstow as our deep bench big.

I remember a lot of talk around the draft of Gordon being a potential bust and even after. He was actually the guy I liked in that draft. I couldn't care less if he can do fancy dunks, but man, what a freaking rare bird he is when it comes to raw athleticism. I have never seen anything like that sit jump dunk. Truly awesome. That was like a freestyle ski trick combined with a dunk or something. Just insane. I also think Gordon is just a good kid and eventually will be one of the superstars in this league. He's smart, he learns fast. Comes from great stock. He just turned 20. Think about that. I remember listening to Sean Miller talk about him before the draft and thinking he would be a kid I would trade a lot to move up for. As a player I like him more than Zach.

At least we didn't have to trade anything to get Doug.

... :-?
I'm not here to argue.
