Bulls should go for Boban Marjanovic

Post#1 » by PhilippineBulls » Mon Feb 8, 2016 2:46 pm

So this is our center position situation come off season

Pau is gone this off season
Noah should be gone.. nothing left in the tank.
Bairstow not good enough
Bobby portis will need 2 more years.

Why not go after

Boban, a 7'3" behemoth, a RFA. He makes kawhi's hands look like a kitten's paw

Its about time we have a monster in the paint.
No more lanky frail soft centers next season.

He is paid $2m this year by the spurs. I think $36/3years gets us boban.

I want to see Lebron go through the Bulls with Boban waiting for him

What do u guys think?

I think there is a place for a player like that.

But Mozgov can be that player. I forget who it was - but they laid out a simple offseason plan of OJ Mayo + Mozgov. I thought that was effective and to the point.

If Derrick Rose's play the last 10 games is par for the course going forward - then we are not that many quality players away from being an ECF team again.
For love, not money.

I agree; I think there's a lot of players that can be that. However, Boban might end up being amazing, so it would be nice to get him specifically if we think he can develop into something better.

If we're looking for rim protectors, we can probably even go for someone like Asik if we think he can bring it back, and who we might even be able to get with an asset tagged along as he's on a long contract that is pegged as a liability at the moment.

We can be smart about going after players who we are bringing in as specialists.

On the other hand, as far as Boban specifically, he'd definitely be a nice upside, albeit a risk.

why would Spurs be giving up on him after one year? they have no cap space at all?

Spurs are tied up at $85m for 2016. Given the estimated salary cap.is at $88m, that leaves only $3m for the bobinator
