The Zipser with a not too shabby Eurobasket set of qualifier games. 13ppg on 68% from 2pt, 55% from 3pt and 94% ft.

Definitely a fan. He's a role player through and through, but a very competent one. Seems to have a strong mental makeup among other things as well. He was highly rated by DX and the like for a reason.

My only concerns are whether he find himself stuck between the 3 and 4 (I think he'll be fine, but he's pretty big and hopefully not too slow to guard the 3 at a high level), and just how good his shot is. So far so good based on what we've seen.

Wade will probably be here one season, after that, Taj will be gone, Snell, eh. Niko? Dougie? If Zipser is a ballplayer, He'll come off the bench for probable starter Dougie or Niko whichever comes out first. But are we projecting a future team of

Rondo/Grant (I guess)
Jimmy/Valentine
Dougie/Zip
RoLo
Niko/Zip

well I guess so. But I mean, people expect Valentine to play, and I'm not sure the Bulls have more minutes for Valentine than they do for Zipser. I'm not ready to buy him as a PG just yet until I see him. And Zipser is physically ready for NBA ball, I'll just say that.

SF & SG or SF & PF? He will be an interesting player to watch develop.

I got the impression from SL that Valentine is way too slow to guard the 1.

10 pages here and no minutes in Game 1.
Will he play in Game 2?
Did I miss something about why he didn't play in the first game?

None of the the training camp invites played either. He's been with the Bulls for barely two weeks, he probably won't get any real minutes before the last two preseason games.

I think his minute battle will be with Snell and Denzel. There are minutes to be had at 3rd string SG and SF. Given Jimmy can slide over for stretches, I think Fred can give minutes to best players.

It's official the Bulls have found their Nocioni Part Deux

Post#199 » by JimmyJammer » Sat Oct 8, 2016 12:31 am

Small sample size or not, I'll repeat what I said over the Summer after watching some of his highlights, Zipser's game reminds me of Nocioni's. He drives to the basket fearlessly, he plays solid defense and he has a jumpshot. He seems to have a confidence and meanness to him that I really like. It's too bad that we did not have him over the Summer in Summer League, because he would have made some noise and would have been further in his development.

He sure looked great last night. Doesn't remind me of Nocioni really, but I was very surprised and impressed with what I saw.
