6'11" - shooting 36% on four 3's a game i nthe G-league. 61% TS%. 2 STOCKS per game

Stretch big - lefty.

Envision him more as a big 4 that can play alongside a guy like Vuc and play some minutes as a small ball 5.

Size - length- shooting

His defense is not good, he can't dribble, isn't much of a passer, and his rebounding is questionable. Shooting is more or less his only skill, he's raw everywhere else.

This is a pretty fair evaluation of Tyler Smith.

Thanks - good article, overall even that writer seems pretty high on him. His conclusion is:

Most 6’11” 19-year-olds can’t consistently shoot the ball for three-point range. Few are reliable decision-makers as passers on top of that. The combination of those skills and genuine NBA athleticism is an even rarer amalgamation. That’s what Tyler Smith is bringing to the table. If you want to get hung up on his handle or his lack of consistency on the defensive end, it is absolutely your right to do so. But zooming out, he’s bringing an uncommon set of traits to the table, backed by production in a professional league.

He goes on to compare Smith to Markkanen, Portis and Lyles as a sort of range for his production.

Can’t really disagree. He has talent though and a body type that is valuable in this NBA. Both worth something in this draft.

With how Williams has played lately, a bad tournament showing may cause him to fall outside the top 10.

The chances of Kentucky hiring another coach who recruits like Calipari are nil. But Jesus…. at some point losses like this *have* to matter, no?

You’d think!

OAD talent doesn’t win in the tourney.

Vet/Senior guard play does.

It's tough to ask kids fresh out of high school to compete against a compilation of players who were one of the best players on their college team. Not to mention, guys playing for their professional basketball lives. Let's see what happens to the prospects who were signed for two seasons. Definitely a tough call, but probably the right one.

If the draft were today we would have the 11th pick...barring a hole bunch of variables.

Great spot to be in a weak draft.

I like drafting a more college ready player that fits like Edey, Da Silva, Knect, Reeves.

We need shooting and bigs.

It was a mostly positive game from Daron Holmes. He finished with 23/8/3 made 2 3s, and had a solid all-around game on offense. On the downside, he was small and lacking physically against Zona's frontcourt. I have concerns about how good his rim protection will be at the next level.

The NBA youtube channel has Saint Quentin (Melvin Ajinca) vs Cholet (Tidjane Salaun) on if anybody is interested in these two.

Watching Kansas. Hunter Dickinson looks like a solid 2nd Round pick (if we had one). Big mobile body. Nice touch. Kind of a Hartenstein vibe.

Dickinson dreams he could be as explosive around the rim as Hartenstein. He's productive, but looks like a solid G League center.
