Just remember. outside of 2005, the White Sox have not won a playoff series since 1917. Reinsdorf is literally the worst and WS fans deserve better.

lolwut? no.. cmon.. that can't be real. They didn't have a series win since 1917!?
Good lord

They should/could have won in 1919 but they did a thing which led to another thing which led to a big thing.

So what if it's nearly 30 years old, it isn't in bad shape and has gone through a number of major renovations since it was built. Imagine if every building downtown had to be demolished after 30 years. It's just a ridiculous cash grab. The United Center is almost 30 years old as well, are they going to need a new arena as well?

I think it would suck for Sox fans, but I do wonder how much more they'd be worth if they moved closer to a "nicer" location?

Its not the locations fault Jerry wanted massive parking lots around the stadium instead of restaurants, bars and condos.

never understood why the Sox never hosts concerts like Wrigley. You have Bruce Springstein perform anywhere it's selling out and making money.

They used to. I know they got in big trouble because they had a Rolling Stones concert go until 2AM.

Most people in Chicago care about the Bears. Most people in Chicago don’t care about the White Sox.

Goes back to the Konerko interview after the Sox won the world series in 05 admitting that Chicago cares more a out the Cubs than the White Sox despite which side you live on.

The White Sox have done nothing to change this in the 40 years I've followed them. It is hard to change peoples allegiances, and it would require a sustained period of having a better, more desirable product. There were large swaths of time the products were equally bad, but there has never been even a sustained stretch where I would say the White Sox product was meaningfully better. Even when they won the World Series, it was a better product for a very short period of time.

For being next to up-trending Bridgeport and Chinatown, Guaranteed Rate Field (ugh) and surrounding area (parking lots) are about as boring and lifeless as it gets.

Jerry sucks as an owner. Truly believe if he didn't luck into Jordan he would have had to sell his teams a long time ago as one of the worst owners ever.

You misspelled Comiskey Park. It’s like the Sears Tower.

This whole tax payer stadium nonsense is out of control. These franchises are worth billions and are owned by billionaires and used soley for recreational activities in limited use. It's such a poor use of tax dollars and subsidizing those that need it the least. And only the ownership really sees returns. They could easily retool the stadium and if they had a compelling product, it would still sell out. Chicago Stadium sold out with MJ, Wrigley sells out whenever the team is good or it's a nice summer afternoon and Solider Field is packed even in a blizzard. Just put in nicer seats and a better audio/visual elements and people will be happy.
