If he's the real deal, he should be able to eclipse it. Sam Howell was about to obliterate 4k yards before they started tanking in the last 5 games and ended up only about 50 yards below 4k.
Agree but even if he doesn’t and he gets the job done in the red zone and in the clutch and we win games then its good enough for me.
Yep that is where Caleb will ultimately be judged. The 4k yards thing is a funny note on this Bears franchise specifically as they're so comically, historically behind the curve with our passing offense as the only franchise yet to have a QB cross that mark. But if Caleb throws for 4,100 yards, but also has 20+ INT's like Howell or insert your high volume low end QB here, obviously we Bears fans are going to panic.
My feel for expectations currently is that everyone expects a step forward this year, even with a rookie QB. And CJ Stroud and the stark similarities between rebuilds for the Texans and Bears are certainly expectation drivers. 8 wins feels like the floor for expectations. CJ's elite 23TD to 5Int ratio is insanely good, especially for a rookie, so thats gonna be a very tough ratio to approach/be compared to for Caleb. But without question Caleb's production will be viewed relative to CJ in the young QB conversation.
