SC is bigger and better. CC had no gas at the end, short shots and poor ball control.

Congrats to them, deserving champs. Kudos also to Iowa for making this an entertaining game, as close as 5 points down with 4 minutes left. Against a powerhouse like SC, that's a heck of an accomplishment.

Finally, Clark is going to get a TON of assists in the WBNA when all those passes that she makes to cutters will become layups rather than blocked shots. I predict that she will lead the WBNA this summer in assists (but not points).

If you had to rank players, it would be Caitlin #1, but SC arguably have the next 6 best players on the floor. Heck Tessa Johnson is a freshman off the bench and she led with 19.

Great season for Caitlin and Iowa but SC is on another level.

It was 27 to 20, and I was watching the game with my wife and I said it will be a miracle if Iowa wins.

Even when SC was down by a good amount early, everything in the game looked like it was going SCs way outside of luck.

Should Sky draft Cardoso or Reese? I'm torn.

I would take Reese. Cardoso is a great rim protector, can rebound (of course), and can score at will if she gets the ball near the rim, but otherwise has no discernible skills. Can't shoot a lick; you can Hack-a-Shaq her. Whereas Reese is just as good on the boards because she has some Rodman in her, plus she moves a lot better, can pass, and can make shots while not standing under the basket.

But that's just me, I am no scout.

Maybe the next 12. Everybody on Iowa's squad except Clark and maybe Stuelke would be walk-ons at South Carolina.

Cardoso isn't that bad at FTs.

I do think Reese has the higher ceiling although she's pretty raw.

Stuelke is good. She might be the best big other than Cardoso.

But other than that, yeah none of the Iowa players would make the roster.

why didnt higher caliber players go to Iowa? With Caitlin that guaranteed exposure; you would figure they would have been the #1 destination for transfer portal players.

24 on Iowa was tough but way undersized.

They had no open scholarships.

Pretty silly not to manufacture one open scholarship though to bring in one mercenary.

I don't know much about it but both ESPN and CBS have Rickea Jackson for the Sky at #3.

Tankathon also has Jackson to the Sky at 3.

Wonder what prices will be like to see Caitlin play.

I can't imagine the WNBA is ever selling out, so there's not going to be any price increase. If you want some really elite seats those might have a bit more sticker price than normal, but probably not much more there either.

She stinks. Inefficient. Mediocre rebounder. No blocks/steals. Led a bad team this year.

Cardoso/Reese all day over her.

Wrong.

Fever have basically sold out all their games already.

Some of the top tabs are moving to bigger stadiums for when the Fever come to town.

Interesting, will be interesting to see if that trend continues for any length of time. No WNBA team was even close to selling out regularly last year, the Aces had the best attendance and averaged 80% capacity at 9500 average attendance in a 12k seat stadium.

Do high-ranked players ever come to Iowa, unless they are from the state? Clark was #4 in her class on ESPN HS rankings and Stuelke was #30 or so. But both are from Iowa. After that, not so much, although Afollter was a 4-star recruit from Illinois. Not SC material, but a pretty solid catch.

But maybe things are changing a bit, as Iowa signed the #12 player in the 2025 class, who hails from California.

Anyone know why former WNBA players seem to despise Clark? The energy of hatred is pretty intense.
