Sucks that Butler is out. Playoff Jimmy was a sight to behold

Not taking anything away from the Hawks win but this would be a much more impressive win against a "real" team if they can pull it off.

Doesn't matter if Jimmy is playing or not, it's gonna be a dogfight either way with these Heat. Somebody like Duncan Robinson or Kevin Love is gonna catch fire from 3 while we go double Delon Wright in the paint.

and we are the type of team who when the star is out will lower our guard.

Miami 33-27 (.550) with Butler. 13-9 (.590) without him.

Obviously, Butler is a huge playoff performer. But Miami is still a real threat and a solid team without him.

The Bulls better come out with energy and hot hands.

Cannot come out and expect the Heat to lay down since they will likely be without Butler. Play like Butler is on the court until the final horn sounds.

Going to be the opposite of last night, our offense is going to struggle and we need the defense to match Miami's intensity. Might see more Drummond simply because Vuc can't guard a tree stump anymore, not that Andre is Rudy Gobert or anything.

Yeah, and the Heat are just the type of team who will play well no matter who they have on the floor with a coach who will force the Bulls to do things they're not comfortable at. I expect them to run zone defense multiple times and force us to shoot contested 3s while on the other end, abusing plays that'll get them wide open corner 3s.

You know, the things we suck at executing and the schemes that got them to the Finals last year.

And no way he's gonna let Coby be that comfortable getting into the paint over and over. There's gonna be a wall, and he and DeMar will be forced to give the ball up for somebody else to step up. It's important for guys like Ayo, Vooch, and Javonte to keep up pressure and force them to adjust.

Depends on how the Bulls defend the 3 point line.
Hope Caruso isn’t out for too long.

This is such a Bulls type of game to lose. No Jimmy, Bulls can't figure out a way to step up with this opportunity, lose by 8.

We have a real chance to squeeze out the only possible value there is to reaching the play in: getting Ayo and Coby a real playoff series.

I am not a DDR, Vuc or BD hater, but I am very much concerned they will try to take too much control of this team Friday night - albeit with good intentions - and blow it.

My only concern would be that DDR might take the reins down the stretch if it's close. Otherwise, they've been letting Coby cook all season, and I don't see why that's going to stop now.

It's typically their bigs that kill us. On the first Dec game with Bam out, Jaime Jaquez & Love combined for 38 points. The next game, they combined for 40 points on 62% shooting. When Bam played, he added 23-24 points to that on ~60% shooting.
Our "PFs" like Caruso are just too small, and Caruso is probably out anyway.

We're going to need to defend their paint scoring well even without size & AC.
We're going to need to score against a top 5 defense, Atlanta if Trae is in the lineup is like the 29th or 30th defense in the league.

Nice fun win last night but I take nothing away from it other than we did what we needed to against a bad Atlanta defense. This will be a dogfight. I just don't see us winning, we really haven't won this type of game very often since the end of Thibs.

That said, go Bulls.

Craig should get more PT if Caruso is out. His length would be beneficial

Have a feeling that either Herro or Robinson gonna rain 3s. With Caruso probably out, gonna be tough

Return to Chicago Bulls
