AK end of season press conference?

Post#1 » by ScrantonBulls » Sat Apr 20, 2024 6:55 pm

Doesn't AK usually give his end of the season press conference the day after they are eliminated? I look forward to getting angry about it. Can't find anything about it except for Jon Greenberg alluding to it on Twitter.

By achieving virtually the same thing as last season, Chicago won the continuity championship this year. Not sure what people could be angry about.

They lost on the road, nobody in the media up for that on Saturday, I'd say Monday or Tuesday.

Yes, but there's a wide range of what he might mean by "changes".

AK also said the team will only go over the luxury tax if they can prove to be a top 4 team in the East.

And it seems to contradict their apparent dedication to resign Pat and Demar.

"We obviously can't roll out the same team again and expect different results," .......

"We had a lot of guys injured this year so once we get them back we will be a completely different team"

is what I expect from this regime

Oh, for sure. It’ll probably be trying to get win-now big names in a feckless attempt to be in the playoffs next year.

I'm not sure if any big names are even available to "try" to get.

I remember last off season when AK said something to the effect of "Wait until after free agency". Then he signed Carter and Craig. I expect something similar (minor moves), but hopefully he'll surprise me.

I guess I’m thinking more in terms of trades. As Duck was noting in the other thread, a Zach for Trae Young trade would be pretty darned on-brand.

The organization is so visionless we are going into year 3 of having absolutely zero reason for hope. The owners are bottom of the barrell this realization has been beaten to death I know. But its the shadow that will ever loom over any hope for this franchise. But AKME simply have done a really bad job and there is no reason for any meaningful hope this offseason or any near time soon.

We are all here for catharsis as we cope and deal with this nightmare ownership slumming over a franchise we care(d) about.

Eye opening part of the press conference: This group doesn’t work. All possibilities need to be explored with the roster. This includes coaching staff.

Question (paraphrased): Are you satisfied with the job the front office did and is it possible that there may be changes in the front office?

AK: No. I feel really good about front-office.

For those unable to watch, he was asked specifically about whether DeRozan and LaVine would be brought back. He initially just answered vaguely about needing to improve the roster without naming any names. He was then pressed again specifically about DeRozan and LaVine. He answered that with DeRozan, both sides are interested in making it work but ignored the LaVine side of the question.

Is the bold something that AK said?

So he's reading a speech. Does he write it gramatically incorrect?

I was about to post this. Zach is gone.
