First road series for the Rocks, home opener for the Pads. I'd like to see Garrett Atkins have a little better series, he didn't have the best series from the plate against Arizona. They're going up against a couple old men in Maddux and Wells, then Peavy who looked good in their opener.

This would be a huge confidence builder for our younger guys if we could win this series, the pitching matchups arent bad other than Peavy was amazing his first start so hopefully that doesnt carry over. Also am intrested in how Hirsh looks, never seen him pitch before, hopefully he developes into what everyone thinks he can.

It would be nice to start this road trip on a fast start. I can't wait to see what Hirch will do.

Pads lost to the Giants last night. It looks like there's a good chance this could be a 3-4 team race for the NL West crown. The Rockies always find a way to not be in the hunt closer to October, hopefully that's not the case this season. We'll see how the team plays on the road.

Well Folks what is there to say? Hirsh pitch Beautifully today and we got this Road Trip off with a bang by beating the SD Padres in their Home Opener. Rockies are 3-1 and get this LEAD THE NL West for now.

Tomorrow we have Fogg on the hill. Now Fogg has the ablity to keep the Rockies in the ballgame so lets hope the bats get the guy some run support and maybe we can take Game 2.

didn't get to see that game, being that I live in AZ, but I did see the highlights and read the boxscore. looks like holliday and matsui had good games, and seems like the kid Hirsh pitched a quality first game (especially going on the road against a guy like Maddux). overall, very impressive game, let's see if we can keep it up thru the weekend.

Nice win last night great pitching by Hirsh. Lets carry it over into tonight, I have a lot of faith in Fogg and he is also still trying to keep that 5th starter spot so he should come out with his best stuff.

Matsui is going to be very good for the Rocks this year hitting in the 2nd spot. He can get on base frequently and steal bases.

Well tough loss tonight but Fogg looked good, although I dont think he pitched great, he was leaving it up all night just was lucky they were playing in petco. What did you guys think of Hurdle keeping in Corpas to pitch agains Gonzales, I thought he should of brought in Fuentes, oh well lets try to get a win tomorrow.

what a frikin waste of a performance by cook. i thought everyone said it was our starting rotation that would be not so good this year and that our bullpen was strong.... well so far we've had strong outings in EVERY game by our starters, and our bullpen has cost us a few games already. hopefully this doesn't keep up like this, otherwise cook will turn into this year's version of Jennings.

I dont know I think Cook was pretty much just like Jennings last year in not getting run support but I cant remeber the exact numbers.

Well there is nothing our starters can do more, they have all looked great, couple of tough breaks the last couple games, it seems SD scored every chance they had and we never scored, we just cant seem to get the big hit, hopefully that changes. I agree our bullpen could be better but I also think the last 2games falls on our offense.
