The winter meetings conclude this morning with the Rule 5 draft of players not on 40-man rosters. Dombrowski said unless his roster has an opening -- which could be the case if pitcher Alfredo Figaro’s signing with a Japanese club becomes official — he doesn’t expect to select a player.

“There might be a couple of names we’d be interested in,” added Dombrowski, whose club is slotted 16th in draft order.
