They have a good lineup if you minus Raburn, but you can never have enough offense.
Another bat to protect Miguel Cabrera and Victor Martinez would be a huge boost to the Tigers.
Carlos Beltran could be a target to replace Magglio Ordonez in the outfield and see some time at DH as well
The Tigers' outfield is a problem. Brennan Boesch is Detroit's only semi-regular outfielder with an OPS over .690, and the Tigers outfielders have combined for a .643 OPS. Yikes.
Ludwick is no great shake—he hasn't OPSed over .775 since 2008—but he'd instantly become Detroit's best outfield option

I think the Mets will keep Jose Reyes as opposed to that article, and since the Mets still have some financial snafus, I wouldn't be shocked to see David Wright.

I absolutely think Reyes is for sale. He is exactly what we need, but we would have to give up someone like Porcello or Turner for him probably. And we already have Peralta at Short, though you could move Peralta to Third and give Inge the boot to the bench as a defensive replacement....too expensive still
That all said, I doubt we make a move

I would love to see either one of Wright or Reyes. We'd be instant championship contenders, easily. One of the biggest pluses is finally seeing that hack Inge and the king of all white, scrappy, gritty hustle players who suck major **** in Kelly. It's a perfect match for us and it makes so much sense. But because of that, we won't get either of them.

Re: Trade deadline who will Tigers pick up?
Yeah I don't have Reyes ruled out I just think the cost will be lower for Wright and that he will be more likely to be dealt since the Mets need to work on their long-term future and Reyes is younger and Wright has the question mark of age/injury creeping up that it seems more likely they will sell him off than Reyes.

The Tigers have been gauging trade interest in left-handed reliever Brad Thomas and are willing to move him, a major-league source told FOXSports.com.

Re: Trade deadline who will Tigers pick up?
I was really hoping Ordonez would start to catch fire like he did last season. He's not starting today I believe, rightfully. If my memory isn't playing tricks on me, he did have a sub .200 era last year and was then able to get back to .300, doesn't feel like he will this season. If he did pick up, he would really have lessened the need for a bat to protect Cabrera

Oh joy, the Braves are trying to do what we should be trying to do, and that's find sucker teams to buy pitchers so they can then go to the cheap young guys and spend the pitcher salvage gains to bolster other areas or to put towards future financial profits and long-term health. Uggggh. Somehow I don't think they will take Brandon Inge for him.

Foxsports.com writer Jon Paul Morosi, citing unidentified sources, said the team is looking at Baltimore Orioles right-hander Jeremy Guthrie. That adds to the list already comprised of Hiroki Kuroda, Ubaldo Jimenez and Derek Lowe
